Epar. Od. Chaironias - Akontiou, 321 00, Cheronia
Been here?
A level, illuminated parking area in front of the Lion of Cheronea, with a rubbish bin and a children's playground nearby. It is convenient for an overnight stop and for visiting the monument and museum, whose out-of-season entry costs €2. The area generally feels safe and quiet, but a loud nighttime bell can make nearby dogs bark all night.

Beautiful parking area on a paved lot by the Lion Monument, which is well worth seeing. It is an imposing funerary monument in Chaironeia, Boeotia, dedicated to the Theban Sacred Band who fell in the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC. The site is next to a road, but it is not heavily trafficked.Translating
The parking lot is level, quiet, and safe at night, with lighting and a rubbish bin. Quite a lot of litter around.Translating
Good place to spend the night. It is lit and feels safe, except for a creepy loud bell sound moving around at night, which made the dogs nearby bark all night.Translating
Convenient for an overnight stop and for visiting the large statue and small museum, which is well worth the €2 entry fee out of season. The parking is level, and on a Friday or Saturday evening only a few cars park for the small bar, with no noise or hassle at all. Small supermarket and other amenities five minutes away on foot. A couple of local dogs come and go according to your wishes.Translating
Excellent place to spend the night.Translating
Really good place to stay for the night, calm and quiet, with a little dog barking. Two large spaces were occupied by agricultural machines and tractors, but one was free, with enough room for a pickup camper. No problem for a camper. Noisy in the morning as the tractors go to work. The grass has an automatic “shower” during the night, so close the windows. Breakfast with a beautiful view of the ancient Lion. Highly recommend this place.Translating
The parking is good, but there are too many stray dogs. Around 20 normal-sized parking spaces and 5 larger bus-sized spaces. We woke up to unexpected rain at night, but realized it was an automatic grass-watering system that sprays cars parked too close to the grass.Translating
Great place. Locals occasionally came and went. Fairly quiet at night and we slept well. It felt safe.Translating
Parking opposite the archaeological museum and the Lion statue. No signs. Overnight stays possible, friendly neighbors. There are stray dogs that sometimes bark, but it is generally quiet. If you see a puppy about 3–4 months old, with a white head and one eye of each color, give it some affection; it is gorgeous.Translating
Lovely little parking lot. There is a museum, but unfortunately it is closed on Tuesdays. There is also an ancient theater that is somewhat neglected.Translating
A beautiful parking spot. I cannot understand the negative comments about spaces being too narrow and toilets being too far away. Simply explore the area by bicycle and then enjoy the lovely view from the parking spot. Better than at a campsite. We paid €75 per night in Løkken; here we pay that for three days.Translating
