Camping Mérida

The campsite is being renovated and is closed.

The campsite buildings are being renovated, and in typical Spanish fashion it is a complete mess. The welcome was friendly, and we were shown the possibilities and impossibilities. Because of the beautiful weather, the site was good and therefore worth one star. In bad weather, this campsite would be one huge disaster. The sanitary facilities were closed, so we used the facilities in the bungalow, with a cold-water shower.

Camping is closed due to bad weather! Please call in advance, if open! We had to find another place!

It’s alright for an overnight stay. I agree that toilet seats would have been great but other than that it is a really nice, clean and quiet campsite and it was really nice to letting us use the hot shower in the bungalow. Great spot for visiting Mérida.

I do not understand the unpleasant reviews about this campsite. The sanitary facilities are clean, there is hot water, and it is absolutely not noisy. Some toilets have seats. The unfortunate thing is that some users do not know how to brush clean behind themselves. The restaurant is simple but inexpensive.

We arrived late and received a friendly check in. The facilities were old but clean and we had a relaxing stay. Lots of animals in the morning but they just added to the experience ?

We were asked incredulously how one could spend two nights on the site! The dryness under the shade-providing eucalyptus trees is seasonal. However, the showerheads—which are all defective—could be replaced cheaply. Toilet seats would not cost the earth either!

Nice campsite. Very good for visiting Mérida. Clean sanitary facilities. The electrical outlets are all grouped near the hedge. Bring a long extension cord depending on your pitch. It is true that the dogs nearby are noisy and sometimes bothersome.

A simple campsite, well shaded under eucalyptus trees, with level pitches. Large sanitary facilities, not state-of-the-art but clean. Five minutes from Mérida, a magnificent city with Roman ruins to visit. Campsite restaurant: inexpensive, generous, decent portions.

A campsite somewhat forgotten by God, without many pretensions, but it fulfills its purpose. There is no public transport, but the taxis will pick you up and explain everything about Mérida. The bathrooms are very run-down, but there is not much more to expect since the pitches are paid.

The plots are level. It has all the basic amenities. They are old and needs a refurb really. No hot water for washing up, only hot in the showers. It is very noisy! Dogs barking & howling at night. Many animals on site. The people are very helpful and friendly- helped us get our van repaired by a local mechanic when we thought we were going back on a tow truck! Choice of sun/shade.

I do not understand the very negative reviews. It is a simple campsite in a eucalyptus forest, so there is plenty of shade if you want it. A few pitches are completely sunny and treeless. The pool was closed at the end of the season and the price reduced to €15 for a motorhome and two adults. Without electricity, the battery is enough for one night. It is still better than the city-center parking for €14.

One word: horrible. Old and dirty sanitary facilities. Dirty and poorly maintained campsite. Terrible welcome. Restaurant extremely expensive for food that I would not give my dog. Dirty pool. Rubbish everywhere. Dogs barking all night, not to mention the nearby road. One of the worst places in Spain, and expensive too (€21 for three people without electricity). Run away.

IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP. Dogs barking, howling, and crying all night. We could hear them fighting among themselves. Constant noise that makes it impossible to rest for even a minute. A horrible experience that is difficult to forget.

Decent campsite: motorcycle + tent + 1 adult = €12.80. You can register at the nearby bar until 10 p.m. if reception is closed.

Good for a stop on the way. Friendly welcome. Level ground, dirt/sand. Good tree shade. Clean bathrooms. Showers okay. Gray-water drainage is a little complicated. Black-water disposal okay, water filling good. Restaurant good. Small pool. There are animals nearby, and dogs and cats that can be noisy at night. €15 for one van and two people without electricity.

Perfect for a one-night stop or longer if needed while traveling off-season. Friendly welcome, inexpensive, clean facilities, hot shower, under the eucalyptus trees, and well located for continuing the journey. Very quiet.

A very inexpensive option for one night while visiting Mérida. Overall, the cheapest campsite we have stayed at so far. There is a nice swimming pool that provided refreshment before we visited Mérida. The sanitary facilities could be maintained a little better.

Very cheap campsite: €24 for four adults sleeping in a camper. However, the toilets and showers are very neglected, and the whole site is run-down and old, giving the impression of a 1990s campsite. I would recommend it for one or two nights to see Mérida, which is relatively close. The campsite restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and seems quite good.

Good for spending one night. Overall, everything is quite outdated. It needs renovating. The pool is somewhat dirty. Good location.

Good value for money, with a large, very pleasant pool in such intense heat. Clean sanitary facilities and toilets, and appreciated shade. Very welcoming and warm staff. The only negative point is the dogs nearby barking all night. A real shame.

A stopover campsite. We planned to stay for two nights but changed our plans and only slept there for one.

All the facilities are perfect, shaded, with a bar and restaurant belonging to the campsite. The only problem is the dogs around the campsite, which get each other worked up from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., without any owner doing what is necessary to calm them down. A great shame.

A simple and very clean campsite. For reservations, you must go to the restaurant; the hosts are extremely pleasant and kind. We did not take the time to use the pool. It is extremely clean. I am giving it five stars.

A luxury campsite at a unique summer price as well. Luis Miguel, the owner, and his team are excellent in their treatment and services. All facilities—pool, shade, electricity, and water—are wonderful in this weather. The facilities are clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere is excellent; nothing more could be asked for. I highly recommend it. Motorhome + electricity + pool + water filling and emptying: €14.90 per day per person, plus €5.

Very nice campsite with lots of shade and a large pool to cool off, plus a bar. Passing through with a motorhome and trailer, we stayed two nights for two people with electricity; €19 per night is excellent. Large sanitary facilities, not brand new but clean. Five stars without hesitation for the peace and the price. Thank you to the owner.

This campsite has no atmosphere; apart from a few permanent caravans, it is empty. The pool was not even filled in mid-June. Certainly not worth the €25 (for one night with a camper, two adults, and one child).

What a great campsite, especially considering the price-to-quality ratio. Many shaded pitches. You can easily hang your hammock. Hot and cold water everywhere in the clean toilet and washing facilities. Cycling to Mérida is very easy and relatively flat. €15 for two people with a camper, without electricity. Pay at the restaurant.

Camping matching its prices, clean facilities and maintained pitches; the only drawback is that the pool is not yet open. You have to stop criticizing— for €19 you won't find anything better, or else go glamping and you might be satisfied...

I feel pretty well served for 10,50 Euros, 1p and a van. Nice spacey grounds, friendly managment. The sanitary equipment could use a spruce-up but all is clean. If glamping is your thing, go elsewhere. to the rest, I do recommend.

Excellent campground. Attractive grass plots. Superb hot water in the showers. Good restaurant and helpful staff.

Very disappointing. The site has potential, but unfortunately it is being allowed to deteriorate. I first looked around the site and then drove on. Even for little money, I did not want to stay there. It felt very impersonal. There were only two other campers there.

Camping Merida is absolutely to be avoided. A disgrace, not worthy of being called a campsite.

We had reserved the campsite, arrived, and were shocked by the amount of rubbish on the site; the containers were overflowing. There were even full rubbish bags next to the containers. We were sorry, but this made us decide not to stay at this campsite. We found another campsite that suited us better.
