This picnic area lies along the national park road beside the forest. It has tables, a nearly flat hard shoulder and excellent views across the Millevaches plateau. The area is calm and has been used for autonomous overnight stops, including in snow and temperatures of -5.

For a self-sufficient one-night stop, a quiet place with a wonderful landscape at sunrise.
Very good for spending the night at -5°C in the snow at the edge of the forest, on a flat shoulder between the trees.
Great area for stopping for a picnic. Tables and a wonderful view over the Millevaches Plateau...
Really nice. There is even a paved shoulder so you can be almost level.
