Canal motorhome stop, narrow bays

Safe, pleasant, would stay again. Lots of wildlife, birds. Very quaint. Just in case anyone arrived and didn’t know where to get water way cards from, like me, the man who runs the bike shop sells them €10 for 10 credits. Taking a shower uses 2 credits. Having said that, one shower door wouldn’t open and the other didn’t produce any water so I didn’t manage a shower in the end.

perfect little stop by the canal, intersting little harbour. parking area is all clean (updating from previous comment). the pub is excellent, great food and very welcoming. Some vans seem to stop on the pub side next to the harbour but this area seems to be the sanctioned area. water tap is available on the harbour side, toilets seem to stay open without a card, and in my opinion were ok enough.

Currently being used as a storage area for roadworks! Very quiet at night, though. Two large motorhomes could fit lengthwise along the road. Unfortunately, quite a lot of rubbish✦Translating

Too tight for 7.4m motorhomes but ideal if you're smaller. Nice quiet parking opp The Richmond Inn that serves great food and a nice pint of guinness at a very reasonable price. Waterways Ireland toilets opp

Great stopover, might be hard with a bigger van, no services on site but a waterways ireland block across the road. no shops in walking distance but pub has great food an craic quiet enough

Quiet spot, lovely walks along the canal with toilets across the the road.

Great little park up right on the canal, excellent location for Greenway to Dublin. Spent a few hours in the pub Richmond Inn - great atmosphere & we were made to feel very welcome by the barman Enda.

didn't stay here but, stopped to get a shower (you need a waterways card). The shower was good and hot (10 mins) but, both the showers and toilets look like they haven't been cleaned in a while.

Very quiet night, as others have stated showers and toilets provided by Waterways Ireland for smart card holders. The toilets appeared to be open to all which was reflected in the poor state they were in. Showers were just ok but better than nothing. There is a pub on the marina which sounded busy and looked ok but too tired to visit.

You need a card to take a shower there! We asked for some help to the pub owner in front of the canal and they offered us a room in their b&b to take a shower for 3€/pers.

We stayed near the pub on the Royal Canal at the final lock before it meets the Shannon. We wandered into a lovely traditional music session and were made feel very welcome. Nice walk southwards along banks of canal.
