Simple parking area, noisy nights

Our first overnight stay at a motorhome site went well. It is nice that there are public toilets too, but the men’s section was particularly filthy. Cleaning is recorded but apparently not done. Otherwise, we slept well and found it quiet around the parking area. It also felt safe to be here with several campers, close to a large shop, restaurant, and houses.

The absolute main advantage is the proximity to the old town, within walking distance. There were also plenty of spaces available when we arrived. However, it is far too noisy at night, especially for small children. Loud music and shouting local guests continued until well after midnight. There were also buses on the site waiting with their engines running, for whatever reason. We are driving on tired.

The campers are parked at the back of the car park. Toilets are available. A little noisy, but overall we slept well. Ideal location close to the town.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this motorhome site. It is very noisy because buses start their engines about an hour before departure. The sanitary facilities are okay, but despite documented cleaning they had not been cleaned in the morning—rubbish and dirt from the previous evening were still there. The only advantage is the proximity to the old town. €20 per 24 hours is too much for this.

Stayed here one night. Easy to walk to town, but very noisy, with cars driving through most of the night.

We parked here for two hours while passing through, in order to explore the very beautiful little town. Many others have stayed overnight here too. A good car park if you want to visit the town!

The site is very quiet; we slept wonderfully. The old town is a short walk away. We will gladly come back.

We had a very quiet night at the bottom of the whole parking area. This is a must-stop town with an amazing wall that can be walked along for most of its length. You must do the night-watch tour—5 stars. Price was as listed, with all services.

We give the one star for the proximity to the beautiful old town. Otherwise, the site is extremely disorganised and poorly signposted. Nobody really knows where the motorhome spaces are, and everyone parks wherever they want. We only parked here during the day to see the town and paid €17.20 for about six hours, which we found extremely overpriced!!!

We went there only to use the services. The installation is functional and very clean. The toilets are at the same level and heated as well! German thoroughness—perfect! For sleeping, it is not very level.

Parked on a weekend outside the holiday season, fairly far down the parking lot near the fire brigade, with a little noise from the café/restaurant. No electricity; I did not notice a grey-water dump station. You need something to level your camper because it is not flat. Basically, it is only a paved car park with few facilities. The price is too high for what is offered, but it is convenient for visiting the old town.

Parked here for several hours to explore the walled centre, which was wonderful. Conveniently located, secure, and reasonably priced.

Large site with disposal facilities and a clean toilet building. As there is a bar nearby, expect loud music and crowds until around midnight at weekends.

We stayed overnight here from 25 to 26 December. It was very quiet, the service point worked, and there was a small sanitary building. Unfortunately, there are no electricity posts at the site; for those, it is better to go to P2. The old town walls are within a five-minute walk.

It is very nice on holidays. No noise. Just some tourist buses starting around 7. Bathroom very clean, unexpectedly so on 26 December, with paper and soap. Nothing to complain about.

Within walking distance of the old town—great. Supposedly there are 30 motorhome spaces, 28 of which were occupied by cars. On Monday at 5:00am, the night’s peace was over. It feels as if you are sleeping on a main road. Access to the DIY store, fire brigade, and a construction site nearby. Well, it is fine for one night.

Close to the old town. We are here as the only motorhome. We had a very quiet night. But at 6:30am a street sweeper cleaned the car park with a lot of noise, even though the car park was not dirty. There is also a service point.

And the party at the Molkerei restaurant went on until 5:00am.

Dear campers, better give this place a miss. Sleeping here is out of the question. It is currently 00:40 and the city's teenagers are testing the bass systems in their cars. No end in sight. We will probably drive on now. ☹️

Parking is just 2ft apart, couldn’t open the van door fully as the next van was so close. Very much like a general parking area with no personal space. Toilets are clean. Everywhere is full so reluctantly stayed.

The parking area is spacious, the toilets are not very clean and are essentially public. The parking payment machine does not accept credit cards, only the app or cash. €20 per night is excessive for the services provided.

Reasonably spacious area but, like the other one, very busy. Quiet and close to the town center. €20 for 24 hours at present, payable by app or cash. There are toilets, but I don't know what they are like.

Only for parking; it is a busy car park, too expensive and noisy for one night. Follow the signs for parking P3.

€2.50 per hour, €20 per day for the parking area. It is a 15-minute walk from the historic town center. We stayed overnight and had no problems. There are toilets with three cubicles each, and they are clean. We could not find the waste disposal area.

Good Parking to explore the town. Cost €4 for an hour and a half. Toilet facilities were clean. Lots of vans parked up.

Short distances to the beautiful old town. However, paying the parking fee is a challenge. Either €15 in coins or €20 via Parkster. Card payment did not work for us or for others with different cards. Currently there is construction work at the back from 6:30 a.m. Update: I just called the city. The parking fee was increased to €20 on July 1.

Pretty much the worst place we have had so far. Horrendous noise pollution. Driving schools practice with moped students, who constantly circle our motorhome. It would be understandable if the site were free. At €15, it is definitely far too expensive. Rothenburg, never again.

Excellent parking near the center and supermarkets. Electricity is a little more expensive than average. The central spaces are level, the side ones are not, but they have some shade.

We were here overnight on Friday, June 20, 2025. Absolutely quiet and only a few minutes' walk from the old town. €1 for 100 liters of water; you can also get 10 liters for 10 cents. There are shaded spaces too. The toilets at the entrance to the site are okay, though they could be better. Grey- and black-water disposal is no problem. We liked it. 24 hours cost €15.

P3 is not recommended. The toilet is dirty, and many buses have drivers who leave their engines running for hours. Residents use the site and the side street as a racetrack. I am giving the two stars only for its proximity to the old town; the disposal area was full of local cars.

Very quiet night. Green space and a playground nearby below the parking area. All service points for water and waste are available and convenient (€1 for 100 liters), ideal for visiting this beautiful town.

Nothing very original, but convenient for visiting the town; the ramparts are a five-minute walk away. All services are available at the end of the parking area: black water, grey water, and fresh-water filling. A few coaches and trucks were parked, but it was a weekend so they were not working. A superb town to visit.

Very uneven site, where you have to find a spot among cars, buses, and trucks. The cleaner was busy writing down the time in her list. That was all. There are self-cleaning toilets—meaning you have to clean them yourself. A dusty sink has been waiting for attention for a long time. €15 is too much for this. The stars are only for the beautiful old town.

Okay for one night, but no more. Unfortunately, a lot of space is blocked by construction machinery or similar equipment.

Open parking area without a barrier, overrun by cars during the Christmas markets. The town surrounded by walls, with its characteristic houses, many of them half-timbered, is very beautiful to visit.

We chose site P3 based on the reviews. The site is not very inviting, with some sloping spaces. The lower section is severely restricted by construction work and materials. I did not see any electricity posts. Toilets, well... I think the good reviews refer more to site P2. That one is excellent. Quick access to town, sufficient electricity, and toilets clearly better than at P3.
