This is a quiet village parking lot in Kirchherten, with space for at least 5 large vehicles and a small supermarket 2 minutes away. The rural surroundings offer few sights, while the Jackerath opencast mine viewpoint is 10 minutes by car. A daily parking ban from 07:00 to 11:30 has been reported since the beginning of 06.2025. The highway can be heard in the background at night, and the lot is used for festivities twice a year.

Actually a cool place, but since the beginning of June 2025 there has been a no-parking restriction every day from 7:00 to 11:30 a.m.!!!
Medium-sized asphalt parking area. Level, mostly sunny, with glass and clothing collection bins. You may not park in a small section on Tuesday afternoon, so take note. Even then, there is still plenty of space, including for long motorhomes. A wonderfully quiet place, although you can hear the highway in the background at night. Small supermarket around the corner, and a bakery a little farther away.
Very quiet and spacious. From January 15, 2024, there is apparently a no-stopping restriction here, although its duration is not stated.
Spent a good night. The next day we walked around the area and logged geocaches. Recommended, although the place itself is no more than a parking area.
Slept wonderfully peacefully.
