An enclosed daytime parking area in front of the port, useful for visiting Heraklion or waiting for a ferry. It has plenty of space, a toilet and a charge of 6 euros for the whole day, not 24 hours. Overnight stays are officially not allowed, although one recent report described sleeping there quietly.

P2. We slept very peacefully overnight. €6 per day, not per 24 hours. Sundays included. At the roundabout there was a free motorhome parking area for when waiting for the ferry.
Car park in the city, nothing special; it is neither green nor quiet. But it is cheap, safe and spacious. Best for visiting the city or waiting for the ferry. Entrance is the same as for P2/P3.
You reach P2 via the port entrance. €6 for the whole day. You can see the ferries from the car park, as they are only 40 m away. Toilet available.
Very good for the price, quiet, lots of space and next to the city center.
Car park without services, convenient for waiting for the ferry and visiting the city. Six euros regardless of the number of hours, a little expensive.
No overnight stays possible; both car parks were almost empty. No exception even in the off-season.
The man at the barrier told us that 24 hours cost €6 but overnight stays were not allowed. We did not want to stay overnight anyway, but he would not let us in and sent us to a car park farther on. The woman there sent us back.
We parked for the day, easy to get to the old town of Heraklion. They told us to park at the right, the place where the trucks park. We didn't pay a fee.
Impossible to park except when taking a ferry.
