Extremely large asphalt campsite with around 30 designated camper pitches. Located next to the river and a park. Cars are fined if parked there. The pitches vary, narrow and wide, relatively short and longer, with sun and shade. Facilities are available. Only gray water is free. Electricity is also available. Strangely, a camper may park at two of the gray-water points, meaning they often cannot be used. The site is very popular and full. Campers are also parked in the car section, along with a caravan and a rooftop tent. Camping behavior seems to be allowed. Maximum 72 hours. Very quiet at night for an urban location, unless there is a party at the nearby sports club. It is a shame that some campers feel the need to arrive or leave in the middle of the night. As a result, I slept very badly one night. Along the river, you quickly reach the center with many restaurants and bars. Supermarket on the edge of town.

It would be a good pitch if other motorhomes used the marked spaces properly, left their food on tables beside the motorhome (camping), and kept their music quiet in the evening. A quiet night is worth only one star because of this.

Excellent stop on paving blocks, also suitable for long motorhomes. The town is within walking distance. There is also a cycle path. €1 for water and €1 for the cassette. If electricity is needed, €1 every 2 hours. The stop is free, maximum 72 hours. The town and the opera house are worth a visit.

Great place, free of charge; electricity costs €1 for 2 hours. Unfortunately, you have to pay again every 2 hours; advance payment is not possible. Otherwise close to the center, everything is great. Thank you very much.

Great location, thanks to the city. It is a shame that Bayreuth residents also park their vehicles here. And many thanks for the disturbance at night caused by motorhomes searching for parking like nocturnal owls.

Thanks for making the stop free, but it is absurd that you cannot insert more coins for electricity, forcing you to insert €1 (one coin only) every 2 hours. I also agree that the parking area should be signposted to avoid confusion.

Many thanks to the city for the free motorhome pitch! One star deducted for the motorhomes being packed so closely together. We don't need an awning or an outdoor table at pitches, but when the spaces are so narrow that only one motorhome can open its window, it is really too close together. Update: When we got home, we saw that the entire right side of our vehicle had been scratched from front to back.

I confirm all the previous positive comments. Unfortunately, the inconsiderate behavior of some local motorhome owners must also be confirmed: they occupy more space than necessary, preventing others from using the parking area or forcing them to park badly. 4 stars instead of 5 because there is no gray-water disposal, and at least water could be free. The cassette-toilet disposal is excellent.

We have just arrived and are delighted. €1 for 2 hours of electricity is bearable. Very central. Perfect.

Very well-designed pitch, but quite noisy at night, or from 5 a.m., due to traffic and the street sweeper. The “Lanzendorfer Backparadies” bakery is about 300 m away—absolutely outstanding! Unfortunately, many motorhomes did not park well; more could have fit. Otherwise excellent, and free as well.

Thanks to the city for the free motorhome pitch. We explored the whole beautiful city. We would especially like to thank the person who serenaded us from their car in the middle of the night. Apparently, a Bayreuth resident did not like us being here and woke up the whole parking area. It was still nice in Bayreuth.

Great of the city of Bayreuth to provide a free pitch so close to the center. The site, although always well occupied, is perfect. I hope it stays that way. Unfortunately, today we saw exactly what is absolutely unacceptable. There were actually “campers” who set up chairs and tables and had a barbecue. Utterly embarrassing.

Very good location for visiting the city; simply follow the river to reach Bayreuth center. There is a maximum parking duration of 72 hours with a parking disc.

Very noisy, bays are very small and cars park between motorhomes, but it's close to the town hence the 2 stars. Beware check that there are no events on as then the car park is paid (€6 for motorhome per night)to park and gets completely full, and the noise then is even worse. The old town is definitely worth a visit.

Our first motorhome pitch, and free as well. Thank you to the city of Bayreuth; we spent our first night in the motorhome there peacefully and safely. A small note to fellow campers: please be considerate, park so everyone has room, and do not take up more space than necessary.

There is currently a shooting festival, and they are charging €6 for motorhomes! That is really no longer normal. I drove on.

Many thanks to the city of Bayreuth; there are many spaces, but it is also well used. We slept peacefully and safely and took a lovely walk into town along the river. Bayreuth is worth seeing. We did not need waste disposal, electricity, or water.

Unfortunately, there are very inconsiderate people who mistake a parking area like this for a campsite and take up more than one space with bicycles or careless parking. Vehicles arriving later lose out. Anyone who wants to spread out should use another place.

Thank you, Bayreuth, for the free motorhome pitch. Beautiful walk into town along the river. Almost everyone parked considerately, so as many motorhomes as possible could fit. Nevertheless, the site was full in the afternoon.

A lot of campers parking here should learn to stay a little more tight to make space , we came here and all the other campers where so spaced from one another that each one of the took 3 spaces

Free pitch for 72 hours with a parking disc. We only came here for a city stroll. The city center can be reached on foot along the Red Main in about 20 minutes. This is how tourism can be promoted! Thanks to the city fathers!

Thanks to the city for the opportunity to stay overnight for free. Quite busy over the weekend. The sights in the old town are easily reachable on foot. Beautiful floodplain landscape upstream.

We stopped only to refill with water. I don't know whether there is a liter limit, because we stopped the filling ourselves, but we collected about 65 L in 9 minutes. You need to be a little patient; the flow is not very strong.

Great pitch near the old town. We had our motor scooter with us, so it was only about a 5-minute drive to the city center. Electricity available, but €1 for 2 hours. You need to know this. Only €1 can be inserted at a time, please note. Pitch free, thanks Bayreuth. There should be more places like this.

Not overcrowded at the moment, everything as usual. The city center was very lively because of the beautiful weather. We would gladly return.
