Forêt de Givry, 71640, Givry
Been here?
Forest parking at pond edge with picnic tables. No services. Military uses area for live ammunition exercises and will ask visitors to leave; gates may close. Hunting days also restrict access. Isolated, very quiet; limited cell reception.

Nice place, slightly sloping. No shade at midday. Note that there is only one entrance and exit to reach the E607.
Very nice place; we spent one night here as a stop before continuing east.
A quiet, secluded overnight stop.
Perfect. We stopped for a meal break and a nap. Shaded table, flat, and quiet.
Road closed today from both sides, so it is impossible to get there. It would surely be a great place for a short overnight stay; what a shame.
Overnight stop, quiet and safe. Nice place beside a pond, with a few picnic tables, although camping is prohibited there. From 7 a.m., a few cars pass; otherwise completely isolated.
Overnight stop in the middle of the forest, beside the pond. Very quiet and clean, with rubbish collected regularly. You can walk around the pond. The army came through at 7:30 a.m. to make us leave because live-fire exercises were taking place that day. We woke to the gentle sounds of owls and frogs. Very pleasant place.
Very quiet and beautiful place! We arrived very late and were the only bus there. However, the next morning we were locked in because the barriers had apparently been closed early in the morning, as shooting exercises were taking place on the grounds. We were not hit, though, and managed to briefly open the barrier with an 8-mm Allen key and combination pliers. I recommend carrying the appropriate tools!
Ideal for a stop without services. The place is splendid and very quiet; take a quick walk around the pond before a restorative sleep. Highly recommended!
Very large area for several vehicles. Trailers also fit. Very quiet. Beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended.
Actually very beautiful, but quite isolated and with no mobile-phone reception! We continued to Givry, where a pitch at the old station is located directly beside the Burgundy Greenway. It is on asphalt, but safer.
Excellent place to spend the night. Quiet and cool. Very beautiful view of the lake.
Very beautiful, quiet place, although the friendly military police woke us in the morning. The area is within a shooting-training ground, so the access roads are regularly closed.
We slept there for a night. It was beautiful and super quiet. Also surprisingly little mosquitoes at night. :)
Peaceful place beside the pond. We spent a pleasant night. Worth the ten-minute detour.
