This forestry commission parking spot is currently inaccessible because the road is barred. It previously offered gravel, fairly level parking with room for 7m motorhomes, woodland walks, and bike trails. Earlier reports mentioned road noise, which quietened overnight, and some debris from a burnt-out vehicle.

No longer access. Road barred.
Great spot, fairly level, room for numerous vehicles, we parked up near the barrier and in the morning realised we had parked where a burnt out car had been fair bit of glass and metal on the floor covered by leaves, rest of the spaces looked clear, road noise wasn't an issue but it was raining so maybe covered the sound, not a busy road on a Saturday night anyway, dog walkers in the morning.
Lovely walks from the park up but quite loud from road noise. It did quieten down overnight. There is currently evidence of a burnt out vehicle but nothing dangerous.
Very nice spot; it is a shame that some people thought it was a rubbish dump.
Road noise is a bit loud but good spot
Stayed here for a 2nd time- in the woods, set back from the road. Lovely woodland walks. There is road noise all day and into the evening but after 10.30pm it quietened right down. We slept well. Nice spot.
We arrived at around 11 p.m., but unfortunately there was a barrier with a thick lock; the spot was closed.
It’s very close to the road that does come with some noise. Lots of dog walkers. And I’d say chucks are fairly necessary as to park out of the way on the edge takes you off the flat a little. But aside from that it’s a decent park up. Just on the edge of the forest so you can still enjoy the trees. Does what it needs to do. Nice and close to the ancient woodlands that we were there to visit.
