Forest hiking parking, camping prohibited

A hikers’ car park in a quiet forest setting, gently sloping but with a couple of flat spots. Forest trails start nearby, and the monastery’s restaurant and beer garden are very close. Overnight stays have been reported, although an older notice said camping in the natural forest was not permitted.

Spent a very quiet night here. Great forest trails. Hikers car park gently sloping but there are a couple of flat spots.
Daytime yes, overnight NO! Wonderful car park during the day as a starting point for hikes or visiting the abbey. In the morning we found a note from the Bavarian forestry office on the windscreen saying that camping in the natural forest is not permitted.
A wonderful place in beautiful nature. The beer garden at the monastery is also highly recommended. In the morning, locals come to walk their dogs.
