Plan de ville, 38380, Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse
Been here?
CAMPING-CAR PARK area in the heart of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse village, €15 per night in summer. Pitches are narrow (3.30m) and arranged like a car park with no outdoor seating. Services function to standard. Church bells ring constantly and garbage trucks create noise early morning. Restaurants, shops, and ski equipment rental are walking distance; fine mountain views.

Excellent camper spot for a stopover. No sanitary facilities, but electricity is available. There was a chip stand in the square, along with several shops. It was deserted now, but I can imagine the square being quite lively in summer. There is a public toilet by the church.
We only stopped for the service facilities, but in our opinion the service point is inconvenient and the pitches really did not make us want to stay overnight. It is a shame, because there are many small shops nearby and a very pleasant little village square.
Very well-located area in the town centre. The slight slope requires levelling blocks. Access to the service facilities was a little complicated for us.
Not as sloping as that; no levelling blocks needed. In the centre of the village, between residences and forest. Pitches are a little too narrow, but there are not many of us, so it is fine.
It is purely a parking area. The parking bays are barely 3.30 metres wide. There is no possibility of sitting outside the motorhome.
The pitches are like parking spaces, so you cannot put out a table and chairs. Next to the church, which rings constantly, and very noisy rubbish collection shortly before 7 this morning. At the bakery, the residents stared at me and I was served by “Sister Smile” with barely a hello and no goodbye. What a welcome!
It deserves credit for existing and providing a service. No lighting at all, visible areas are clean, and access to the grey-water drain is difficult. Too steep for a standard set of levelling blocks.
A sloping parking area without a view, oddly placed in a corner of the large central square. The service facilities are there and comply with Camping-Car Park standards; the village is pleasant and the surroundings magnificent.
Parking area in the centre of a small family mountain resort. Small pitches packed closely together: the first night there were two vehicles, so it was fine, but the second night there were six, which was less pleasant. The service area is also somewhat tight. Everything works for €13.25 per 24 hours. All shops are close by. We even managed to buy a gas bottle at the petrol station. Very friendly tourist office. Still very practical.
Well located in the centre of the village, but there is no way to come just to use the service facilities, so you have to pay €13.50.
Pleasant area close to shops, quiet, with beautiful hikes. A slight drawback is that the pitches are narrow, making it difficult to put out the table and awning. In hot weather this is annoying. Camping-Car Park should review the pitches here. Thank you.
Area in the centre of the village with 16 spaces. Facilities for emptying grey and black water and an electricity hookup. Very quiet; the only sound is the church bells. We spent a very peaceful night and highly recommend it. Bakery and supermarket 50 metres away.
Stayed for one night to do the MTB route to Gares and attend the festival at Canale. Canale is a nice little town. The car park itself has long bays, but not all are flat. Earplugs are needed for the road in the morning. You cannot use the recycling bins. Card required. No facilities.
