85 Via Acquanuova, 95041, Caltagirone
Been here?
This free public parking area is convenient for visiting Caltagirone, with the centre about 5 minutes away by stairs. It is generally quiet at night, illuminated and monitored by cameras, but the surface is sloped and recent reports describe considerable rubbish and degradation. The drinking fountain does not provide water. Tour buses may occupy much of the area on weekdays, making it crowded.

Arrived in the evening and left. It is a dump where decay reigns.
Good parking area for visiting the city, five minutes away via a staircase. We did not sleep there, but there is no problem; it is fairly quiet.
A lot of rubbish and sloping, but free and quiet at night. Be careful if you park in the upper area. On weekdays, many coaches park there and it could get tight.
Surely the best parking area for visiting the city. Important: under no circumstances let your navigation system send you through the city. Always stay on the SS124, which goes around the city to the west and has two eastern turn-offs that pass directly by this parking area from either side.
Beware of the very narrow streets in the center! Convenient parking for visiting on foot. Quiet.
Convenient, a short walk from the center via stairs, monitored by cameras, and free. Very brightly lit at night. The fountain does not dispense water.
We drove on. This parking area looked the least safe to us. Unfortunately, the actual camper parking area was also full, so we parked in a public parking lot near the park.
Convenient place for visiting the city. Quiet at night, but from 5 a.m. lines of garbage trucks operate continuously on the left side. The right side seems quieter.
Perfect as daytime parking. There are even buses parked there, which provides supervision and security. As overnight parking, I agree with previous reviews: it is only suitable in a pinch. I recommend going 25 minutes from here to the town of Mineo.
The only solution if you really want to see the town. It is free, then sleep elsewhere.
Perfectly acceptable and had the benefit of lighting and video surveillance. It is scruffy and seems to be the local dog walking area. Had a quiet night. We were on our own and felt a little isolated. In the morning we went to the other camper parking and found where everyone else had parked!
Convenient for the center, but noisy because of its location on the bypass and at an intersection.
Okay for leaving the car and sightseeing.
