4 Quai des Marans, 71000, Mâcon
Been here?
This is a paid riverside parking area on the Saône quays, with a beautiful view and the town about a 5-minute walk away. Overnight stays can be quiet, although daytime and holiday periods may bring more people, boats, and traffic. It is suitable for motorhomes up to about 6.50 m long.

Great spot very quiet although it was middle of Jan on a Sunday.. but had a great nights sleep and everyone we spoke to were very welcoming.the town is about a 5 min walk away. Would definitely recommend
Despite the beautiful view of the river, it did not seem safe to me at all: suspicious people, social housing, two dubious-looking men standing around, and no motorhomes. We left and did not see the city because the situation was the same in all nearby parking areas, even during the day—let alone at night.
Great for spending the night with a motorhome up to about 6.5 m long. Right beside the beautiful promenade. Close to the old town.
Great! For parking overnight—quiet, walks by the water, and peace and quiet with no activity during this period, of course. March was perfect for vans and others. The city center is just a few steps away along the cycle path. I highly recommend it, even for walking pets.
The paid parking area was full, but nearby, opposite the river, we found a series of free parking spaces. We stayed for one night; quiet place. Unfortunately, in the city center everything is closed on Sundays, including the shops and restaurants.
The first parking area is paid; the second, at the end of the street, is free. Very beautiful view of the Saône. Ideal for visiting Mâcon. Boats and barges pass by. I spent one night there on Saturday. I slept well. Some traffic in the evening, with families walking along the river, but it was not bothersome. Suitable for vans. Note: The municipal streetlights stay on all night.
Maximum vehicle length: 6 m. We stayed for 30 minutes and received two comments saying we were causing a nuisance and should not be surprised if our vehicle was damaged, even though we were parked entirely within the lines. Very noisy. Result: we headed to Bourg-en-Bresse, where motorhomes are welcomed.
We parked on Sunday, so it was free, and there were few vehicles parked there (in April). Quiet night apart from the arrival of the cruise boats.
We spent a very quiet night there in the parking area. We also felt very safe. The parking meter is in front of the houses. Restaurants nearby are not very good. We stayed in winter.
