37 Tschaikowskistraße, 07548, Gera
Been here?
This is a free, relatively flat daytime parking area beside a small football stadium and the White Elster River. Overnight stays with motorhomes are not permitted, and football activities can make daytime periods noisy. A bridge leads to the park, with sports facilities, playgrounds and barbecue areas, while the city centre is within walking distance. There is no shade or rubbish bin.

Despite loud afternoon training on Saturday and a Sunday morning match, there was plenty of space. Waste containers are on the stadium grounds; glass containers are at the front of the street in the residential area. A 15-minute walk through the beautiful Hofgarten Park takes you to the Otto Dix birthplace. Across a bridge is the Orangerie, where there is a great exhibition of his later work.
Was perfect stop over for us. Quiet parking lot for a football club. Felt safe. Next to a bridge over the river to the Hofwiesenpark and about a 15 minute stroll to the city.
Level parking space, right next to the sports field and the White Elster. The Elster cycle path runs directly alongside the car park. A city park with many sports facilities is on the other side of the Elster. Absolutely quiet at night.
Nice place for one night, with Restaurant Lummersches Backhaus within walking distance. Very good, though somewhat expensive.
At least quiet and level at night. Insider tip: the city forest borders the site directly and is ideal for walking, jogging, cycling and walking the dog. The Buga Park is also very suitable for children. Have fun.
The car park is free and level. Unfortunately, we had not researched beforehand and there was a festival with fireworks in the neighbouring park for 1 May—very distressing for the dogs because it was so loud—our mistake. Unfortunately, there is no bin and the car park has no shade, so it gets very hot!
We stayed here for one night with our motorhome (7.5 m long, no problem) to visit the Christmas market and arcades. There was still youth football training in the evening, but the night was completely quiet. The pedestrian bridge directly next to the site leads into the city centre in 10 minutes on foot.
