Unnamed Road, 66760, Porté-Puymorens
Been here?
4x4 access only
Getting here needs an off-road vehicle. Check your ground clearance before setting off.
A remote mountain spot with exceptional views, hiking routes and a small path toward a beautiful mountain lake. Access is currently extremely difficult, with a damaged track that can become a stream. A proper off-road vehicle with four-wheel drive and high ground clearance is essential; even some 4x4 vans cannot reach it. No firewood is available.

Incredible spot in the mountains! Great hikes up from the spot too. Tricky access, do not attempt without a proper offroad vehicle, low box, high ground clearance. We had to use central diff lock as the road is currently a stream. Made it in our defender 110. Currently a high-lining festival on so lots of ropes set up around but everyone friendly
Impossible to reach the park with a 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter (6 m/3 m). We camped at the EDF station about 1 km lower down. The path is damaged by the stream in places. With a shorter, lighter 4x4, it may be possible. Exceptional place, with a bright blue-sky wake-up after a very, very windy night.
Finally, a 4x4 parking area that really cannot be reached without four-wheel drive and ground clearance. My T5 managed it, although my clutch seems to have given up on us. But the view is excellent, and I had Vodafone internet.
We spent two days here with our Unimog. We really enjoyed the approach. But at present it is definitely accessible only to vehicles with a lot of ground clearance. A small path next to the site leads up to a beautiful mountain lake.
Fantastic place with magnificent views. No firewood available. The approach is no problem with a proper off-road vehicle.
We had a great time driving up here. It was challenging and rewarded with a good view. Definitely not for inexperienced drivers, and you need to enjoy off-roading. Thank you very much.
