Sloped windy lay-by, road noise

Quiet spot just minutes from A66. Quite a slope to the layby and even reversing in you can't get level. But, a handy spot to take a break.

Stopped for a coffee break, stayed only about half an hour, but it looks like a good possibility for an overnight stay.

Great spot for an overnight stop. Stopped on way back from up north, no vehicles passed during the night at all. Would suggest keeping an eye on the weather as found to be very windy, obviously with the nature of the A66 being very open etc

Good spot. Could hear the main road a little but nothing major just for one night. Bit of a hill but we were just getting some rest during a long drive and it wasn’t a problem for a short stay.

Nice lay by. Big enough for 4 or more vans. I didn't notice the camera people have previously mentioned. far enough away from the road for it to just be background noise. good phone signal. unlevel ground but for a one night stop over on the way to scotland. it was perfect for us.

We had a quiet night here on our way up to Scotland. It's really close to the A66 but you really can't hear the road much at all. There is a camera on the wall but no one bothered us all night so I assume it's for fly tipping. Felt safe. Would stay again. We didn't use the ramps and it was fine.

Perfect, quiet lay-by. Very little traffic noise for somewhere so close to the road.
