Rue de la Garenne/Av. Pierre Sibard, 17570, Les Mathes
Been here?
A small CAMPING-CAR PARK motorhome area on tarmac near Les Mathes town centre, within cycling distance of La Palmyre Zoo and five kilometres from beaches. Spaces are tight with limited room to manoeuvre; the site is very clean and quiet. Electricity points are numerous. Cost is €17 per night. Laundry facilities operate on cash only and dryer malfunction has been reported without refund.

The site is partly beautiful. We have been here alone since 4 p.m. today. €17 is too much, as it is 5 km from the beach and the town has nothing to offer. Attention: the self-service laundry at SuperU only accepted cash. The washing machine worked, but the dryer did not, and it kept the €6. Definitely be careful. The service phone did not respond. We will not return.Translating
Very practical service area where you can refill and drain water. Very clean.Translating
Warning: we had to leave in a hurry because travelers had arrived on the adjacent site and then moved onto the service area to connect to water and electricity. Avoid for now.Translating
Adequate service area. It is simply a motorhome parking area. Quiet night. We stayed here because it is not far from La Palmyre Zoo, and the Camping-Car Park motorhome area right near the zoo was full.Translating
A lot of traffic; people stop to collect water, so you have to wait. The spaces are not large and you quickly end up parked very close to others.Translating
Warning about the disposal platform! Pleasant and fairly quiet service area. However, the finish on the disposal platform is still incomplete, despite several reports to Camping-Car Park since May 2023. This is not serious on their part. It is nevertheless a danger to people if a tire is damaged by the edges of the concrete slab.Translating
If you are prepared to pay €15, go ahead; you will have plenty of space. Since it became a Camping-Car Park site, it is practically empty: on a Friday in August, there were two vehicles. If the aim was to drive motorhomes away, it worked! And what about local businesses? I turned around and left.Translating
Adequate and very practical service area, but beware of the unsuitable and dangerous disposal area for tires. No selective waste sorting apart from glass. Other than that, it is very well located for cycling and close to shops.Translating
€15.50! Blatant theft for this parking area, formerly free and without electricity. The traders in Les Mathes will lose many customers who used to spend part of the winter there. We will go straight to the south or to Spain!Translating
Large asphalt parking area near the village, with narrow spaces, many electrical outlets and very clean toilets. Alone at 7 p.m. on this Sunday evening in early April. Very quiet.Translating
lovely and clean lots of electricity points toilets on site clean no bins for rubbish I'm here in winter quiet only 2 campers but there is a bmx course scateboarding etc etc for children not so bad now but summer time could be hectic with the locals supermarket 150mtrs restaurant bar the same great for a couple of nights we use these sites quite alot normally excellent
Formerly free, now a Camping-Car Park site. Exorbitant price, only two electrical outlets for 30 spaces. I used to go there regularly, but I would never set foot there again. The Wi-Fi never works. Avoid it. Such a shame, the area was nice.Translating
Nice and clean, fairly busy but no problem finding a space. Close enough to a town with all amenities. Yes, there is a cost, but you know that upfront, so make your choice in advance.Translating
What a shame, I will not come this way again. It has become paid parking for the same thing that used to be free, so that says it all.Translating
The parking area has become paid. It was ideal when it was free, but it is inconceivable to pay for an asphalt parking area. We will spend our money elsewhere. A shame, because we love Les Mathes for its welcoming character, which is no longer there.Translating
Free parking is over. I just passed by and there was one motorhome. The people who created this paid site are happy, but unfortunately the local businesses will suffer. You cannot win everywhere! A shame, it was a nice place.Translating
The camping area is going to be renovated and placed under the control of Camping-Car Park, like all the sites in the area. The monopoly is taking hold, and so are the prices. It was €12 when managed by the municipality. How much will Camping-Car Park charge?Translating
Yes, too many motorhomes staying free all summer at the expense of others. Now it will be paid.Translating
Service area under construction; it is due to become a Camping-Car Park site. Goodbye Les Mathes and the small businesses. Sadly, I will no longer come here.Translating
I regularly stopped at this service area overnight. I am self-sufficient, so water and electricity are of no use to me. I do not agree with paying for parking. Goodbye Les Mathes.Translating
This service area is under construction and being converted into a paid site with water and electricity. We were allowed to stay on Sunday, but construction began this morning. Otherwise, it is a nice complex next door.Translating
Perfect for draining grey and black water. The service area is in the parking lot of the leisure center, with a BMX track and skate park for children. Nice.
I just spent the night here. Several motorhomes, but there is still room. Choose the parking areas on the right as you enter if you want to receive TV. Excellent service area with free water and disposal. Shops nearby and a market on Fridays. Thanks to the municipality for this area; we would like to see more like it throughout France. MB31
Free concrete parking with shade. We spent one night here before cycling along the bike paths to the Coubre lighthouse. Very practical and a pleasant ride. Thanks to the town hall.
Great that a place like this is provided! Toilets usable until 9 p.m., a pétanque court, and quite a few trees providing shade. Very quiet, perfect for spending one night. Putting aesthetics aside, it is still just a concrete parking area.
We came only to fill up with water. Be careful: the water is marked as non-potable.
Quite a few people in the parking area; local youngsters come to hang around with their motorbikes in the evening, making noise. Otherwise, the night was perfect. Convenient toilets, and shops nearby. There is also a small market in the village on certain days.
Very quiet. Good for an overnight stop. One drawback: the public toilets close at 9 p.m. without any information posted. A shame.
Thanks to the municipality and residents for allowing motorhomes to park for free. Very quiet, with a good bakery in the center of the small town.
Ideal service area for one night. Very convenient for visiting La Palmyre by bicycle using the cycle paths.
Parking for an overnight stop before visiting La Palmyre Zoo. Quiet, with a playground for children.
Just a parking area for sleeping; no water and no disposal facilities.
In summer 2022 there was still a tap for rinsing toilet cassettes, but this year, 2023, there are no taps at all. There is also no more water at the hand basin beside the urinals behind the public, self-cleaning and free toilets, and no more bins. Only good for parking and going to the cinema right next door.
