Been here?
A forest parking area at the pass between the two Donons, with a picnic table and access to hiking trails. The approach includes 500 m of narrow, uneven unpaved road and a small ravine about 50 m long; a 7.10 m motorhome reached it without difficulty. Nights are usually very calm, but the area can be busy with hikers, especially at weekends. There is no bin, and the place is best suited to vans and 4x4s.

Busy spot, preferred by small vehicles without toilets; accordingly, toilet paper is lying everywhere. I suspect a no-camping sign will soon be put up here.
Quiet but busy place, many hiking trailheads.
Very quiet night! Access is a little narrow and bumpy, but we got there without problems with our 7.10 m motorhome. No bin, so please respect the place.
Great parking area in the woods, with the possibility of being in the sun or shade; there are beautiful walks. Good mobile reception too.
Very nice place, BUT the road up is in extremely poor condition! Watch your tires! A panel van can get up easily. There were already 2 motorhomes there, so unfortunately I drove away again.
Very nice place, lots of traffic on weekends.
Spot in the countryside not far from the two Donons. Picnic table and bench available. Ideal for spending a quiet night. From the departmental road, the access track is unpaved, but we managed with our 7.6 m coachbuilt motorhome. Highly recommended.
Top quiet wild-camping spot in the middle of the woods. Ideal for walking up to the Donon Temple in the evening, when the crowds have disappeared ;-) Be careful not to follow the GPS, which directs you up the first track when coming from Col du Donon! With a 4x4 and camper body, negotiating the two hairpin bends was tricky on wet ground :-D
Great quiet place to sleep in a van.
Good spot, rough road up but rewarding. A bit crowded by day but no one at night. If you follow the yellow cross footpath south there is a spring with clear water a bit down the path. Just over 100m from the parking.
Very peaceful in the middle of the forest... Very well located for hiking departures... No bins, so please take your waste with you so that this place remains available... No noise for a restful night... Track a little bumpy and narrow, more suitable for vans.
Very good spot. Unfortunately not that much space when also cars are parking. But overall very calm and relaxing location to access Le Donon. Especially during winter with snow and ice it might be tricky to access with big caravan but with small camper or 4x4 its ok.
Very quiet, very bumpy track but accessible for any motorhome (ours was a 7.5 m coachbuilt).
