Been here?
A free parking area near Lappwaldsee and a starting point for walks and cycling, where overnight stays are tolerated but it is not a campsite. The nearby railway and Bundesstraße are clearly audible, although recent visitors still reported peaceful nights. The lake is about 1.5 km away on foot. There is no electricity or water, and occasional checks by the authorities have been reported.

We were just passing through and spent a quiet night here. Beautiful location surrounded by nature; we were almost alone. You can hear some traffic from the nearby main road, but it did not bother us. There is a pleasant walk with lake views and comfortable wooden loungers. Bins are available in the car park.
I was there in November; very quiet.
Great place; trains and cars can be heard. We spent one night there, but someone pointed out that this is not a campsite. After a brief conversation, it turned out to be meant only as a friendly warning because the authorities apparently check occasionally. We had no problems.
We spent one night here. You can hear passing trains and cars, but it did not bother us. We had a lovely, relaxing night here, and if you feel like walking to the “lake,” there is a beautiful view.
Railway tracks and the main road are very close and clearly audible.
Great for spending the night. The lake is still quite a walk away (1.5 km). Fine if you have the time. You can hear the road a little, but it did not bother us at all. Otherwise very quiet.
Free hiking car park without prohibition signs. I spent the night here undisturbed, although the weather was bad and therefore nothing was going on. You can hear the main road and railway here, but I did not find it too loud. You can walk or cycle by the lake. Kaufland and other supermarkets, as well as snack bars, are reachable on foot in about 20–30 minutes.
Because of the heavily trafficked B1 below the pitch, it is very noisy here. Late in the evening it becomes a meeting place for young people. Cars constantly come and go until late at night, sometimes driving wildly around the site. We did not feel safe here.
Good spot for the night. We had some nice walks in the town and lakeside. Lake area itself is not that pretty as it is old brown coal mine. We stayed here friday night and there were few cars playing music driving around few times in the evening but night time it was quiet.
Quietly located car park in a cul-de-sac. It is not yet a swimming lake, but an open-pit mining area currently being flooded. If we avoid camping-style behaviour, this peaceful place may remain available to us in the future!
