56 Viale Belice, 91024, Nuova Gibellina
Been here?
This is a generous parking lane on a main road, directly in front of the Carabinieri and their security cameras. It is illuminated and generally feels safe, but traffic continues late and early, and stray dogs may bark or approach vehicles. Shops, cafes, restaurants, bakeries and other services are within walking distance. The old town and memorial are 15 km away.

Soulless suburban town—avoid it. You have to visit the old town and its memorial 15 km away.
We spent the night in the parking area in front of a large concrete structure that you can pass underneath. I do not know what it was meant to be used for. A completely safe night; we saw the carabinieri pass two or three times.
Here you can park almost anywhere you want. It is a kind of ghost town that would have been very beautiful if it had actually been inhabited. I was content with a motorized tour of the main monuments, more or less completed, and the buildings abandoned during construction. The architects had really indulged themselves, and it could have become a major tourist attraction.
Very interesting town, deserted and rich in splendid works of art. Convenient parking, absolutely deserted; we had no problems at all.
Very interesting new town, full of contemporary art, built to accommodate survivors of the 1968 earthquake. Brilliant museum about one kilometre up the hill., but the town has become very run down. Parking good for any size motorhome, and felt safe, but stray dogs barked for much of the night. That said an extremely enjoyable and interesting visit.
Lots of places to park in Nuova Gibellina, since it is a kind of ghost town. Originally planned to accommodate 13,000 inhabitants, only 4,000 live there, so there is plenty of space and little traffic. The stray dogs are peaceful. We spent a very quiet night despite the proximity of the road, which has very little traffic.
Perfect place for one night. Some traffic, but not too much. The town is worth visiting—a nice contrast to visiting old towns. Wineries are very close by, where you can taste and buy good wine at reasonable prices.
