Small, quiet parking area for 3-4 camper vans at the end of a mountain road near an alpine pasture, with a beautiful view. Access is via a very narrow, winding road; vehicles over 3.5t or larger than about 7.5m should avoid it, and passing another vehicle is difficult. Cow bells provide occasional background noise. As of 2025 an official parking fee of 20 CHF per vehicle/night applies, with no infrastructure and uneven ground; payment is via Jaun tourism office or an app requiring ID verification. One 2023 report claimed camping was banned with signage, but a later 2025 comment describes it as an official paid spot.

The parking fee for this place has been increased to CHF 20 per vehicle per night. A substantial amount considering there is no infrastructure and the ground is uneven. At least you are then parked officially and legally.
Nice place on the edge of alpine pasture, restaurant 500 m lower down and an alpine refreshment bar selling local products 800 m farther along a dirt road. Very little traffic. Accessible with a motorhome 2.3 m wide, 3 m high, and 7.5 m long. But strongly discouraged if you do not have a good engine and brakes or are not comfortable on small mountain roads.
it's not allowed to camp here anymore. there's a camping forbidden sign and also one at the bottom of the road that forbids driving. so not even sure if it's still a daytime parking for climbers and hikers.
Unfortunately, we could not access it (17 March). One kilometer from the location, several snow slides blocked the way. We had to reverse for much of the journey back, knowing that the road is VERY narrow and has no barrier. Impossible to pass another vehicle or turn around...
The place is no longer free. You have to pay CHF 10 per vehicle per night at the Jaun tourist office or through the app (PREPAID for foreigners), but the app requires identity-document verification (48 hours). So it is impossible to pay for one night. In addition, 4G is poor. The place is magnificent, but I hope I do not wake up with a fine.
