Fortress parking, loud highway

Avoid this place. Our vehicle was broken into. We had hesitated because of the motorway noise, but never again!!!

Beautiful spot with a view of the fortress. We spent two nights here; the only drawback was the motorway noise, but you get used to it. However, bring mosquito repellent because we were attacked by mosquitoes.

Great parking spot beside a small hiking trail, although the motorway is very loud. The road is somewhat bumpy but passable. A few walkers in the morning and visitors from around 10:00.

The nearby motorway is somewhat noisy, and the dirt road is not suitable for all motorhomes, but it is a good spot.

The place is very nice. Having spent two nights here, I can say that the motorway noise is not bothersome at all. If you are more than 2 metres high, you must use Cami de Paroll rather than Avenue du Château Fort.

We have a van and open the roof to sleep, and the nearby motorway is very noisy. Otherwise it is beautiful and somewhat remote. The GPS took us across fields in the middle of the night over a very small bridge.

No GPS problems; it took me to the exact place. There is a little motorway noise, but otherwise it is very peaceful here.

An absolutely excellent overnight spot, especially with children and dogs. There is a huge playground, and you can take long walks with your dog along olive trees and pines. We originally only wanted to stop for lunch, but ended up staying overnight and had a wonderful day.

Indeed, do not follow the GPS. To get there, continue on the village’s main road to a sort of roundabout and take the road to Opoul on the right. Just after the railway crossing, turn right and follow the signs for the playground. We drove past it and entered the gravel path that goes around the fort, which looks like a castle. There are one or two spaces.

Good for parking to eat and visit the castle, but you cannot rely on any GPS to get there. Look for the railway crossing that is not underground, with a maximum height of 2 metres, and be careful not to enter the village’s narrow streets because you will not be able to get out.

Do not rely on the Park4Night GPS or even Google Maps. Take the road to Opoul, then immediately after crossing the railway, turn right onto Cami del Paroll towards the playground. You will have to go around the playground to reach the castle opposite; the path is between the castle and the playground. It is quite bumpy, but you can park directly in front of the castle if it is not too busy.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the right place. You can hear the motorway a little, but it does not spoil the location. We did not spend the night because it was overrun with mosquitoes—what a shame. For access, do not rely on the Park4Night GPS. There is an access problem for vans; the limit is 2 metres. You must go around the town to reach the spot.

Quiet place except for the train, which runs until 11 p.m. I spent the night alone without any problems. Beautiful for sunrise and for walking around the castle.

Beautiful place. We stopped for lunch, surrounded by nature. Very peaceful. Plenty of parking space.

Beautiful, quiet place. No trouble from the train or motorway at night. A gendarme drove past and we were allowed to stay. No facilities.
