Been here?
A scenic nature spot beside Lake Tekojärvi, with lake access, space for about 5 cars and opportunities for hiking nearby. Facilities include toilets, rubbish bins, picnic tables, drinking water and two fire cabins, including one wooden cabin. The route includes gravel and some potholes, but recent reports describe it as accessible for motorhomes up to 7 mts. Other campers and anglers may also use the area.

We found it to be an excellent place to rest. It is worth driving the gravel roads if you plan to stay at least two nights. The road before arriving is very accessible; we came with a 7-meter motorhome. People often come camping, but it is not bothersome. There are hiking trails in the area, an open shelter, another enclosed one with fire pits, and a dry toilet. There is no drinking water.
Very nice spot with a barbecue area outside and in a wooden hut. The first 3 km have potholes, but they are manageable with a motorhome over 6.5 m, even in snow. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. We almost did not go because previous reviews described the road as so bad, but it is manageable and absolutely worth it. The parking area is directly by the lake, in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
The road there is unbelievably bad! What are people writing about? Fifteen kilometers of terrible road. The last 3 km are no longer passable; I turned around after a few meters and am now at a hiking parking area in the middle of nowhere. I’m considering driving the 12 km back and parking somewhere else.
Everything you need: toilet, rubbish bins, two different fire shelters, enough space for five cars, lake access, and a few midges.
The place is nice, but the road there is horrible. We drove on.
Magnificent and very peaceful place by the water. WARNING: the road there is bad—10 km of gravel followed by 5 km of potholes in the dirt road.
The location and services are nice, but the road is really awful, worst for any above 4 stars spot I tried in Finland. Only take it if you come for Pyhä-Nantten trail, forget at night. Also swimming is quite dangerous, a lot of debris and fishing equipment garbage. Got my foot injured. For the night I used spot more south on the lake close to Vuotso.
The site itself is very pleasant, with a magnificent view. There are toilets and two shelters for making fires. However, if you think you will be alone here, you may be disappointed. Many fishermen come to launch their boats, and other campers arrive by car. You can also go hiking in nature. The road is in very poor condition!
We wanted to go to this place, but the road is so bad and full of potholes for a motorhome. It is a 13 km unpaved road. We turned back after 8 km and looked for another place. We did see reindeer, though.
Unfortunately, I cannot understand the positive comments. Everything has already been said about the road. But after all that effort, you arrive only at a boat launch where some old boats and trailers are left to rot, or you have to park directly beside the road. I would not necessarily swim there either. When we were there, a lot of foam had collected along the edge.
The place is really beautiful! Unfortunately, the toilet was a disaster when we were there. You often see pit toilets, but this one was really borderline. The road there is not merely difficult—it is barely passable. Fourteen kilometers off-road were a real challenge for our motorhome. But we made it, and as I said, the place itself is very beautiful!
Wonderful place but horrible road.
very nice place with toilet, trash bins, laavu, kotta and firewood. Spice for 3-4 vans on the Shore.more space along the road. dont miss out on the awesome views from the birdstower (30m on a small trail hidden in the bushes to the right from the shore)
The water is probably under the heavy wooden lid I photographed.
