Route de Jaman, 1824, Montreux
Been here?
Chalet-side clearing above Montreux with sweeping Lac Léman and Dent de Jaman views, reached by a steep, narrow, winding road (about 35 minutes up) via Caux and Le Coucou restaurant, best avoided in large or old vehicles; a height barrier limits access to 2.30m. Space for 4-5 vehicles, mostly level, with picnic tables and a small spring/fountain, though several visitors report no water available. Very quiet at night apart from cowbells, no toilets on site, and free of charge. One winter comment noted the road closed by snow.

Superb view of the lake. However, the roads are difficult to access because of the slope and their width. But the viewpoint is worth it.
Lovely spot! Flat behind the refuge. We took it slowly in second gear to climb with our T3, via the road from Caux. The starry sky at night is magnificent.
Perfect, but there is no water point. We managed to access it with a lowered car!
Interesting spot. You can see the lake, but arrive early to get one of the spaces that allows this. No water point available. Be careful with access! A 7.5 m vehicle can manage it, but it is complicated; the road is long—35 minutes uphill—and very winding.
Great spot with sunset over Lake Geneva. Clean facilities, picnic tables, and a few play areas for children.
The spot by the chalet was occupied, but a few metres farther on there is a parking bay. Two campers were parked there. In the evening a man came and asked strange questions. I only stayed because other people were there too. The view is breathtaking, but the cows were very active and their bells could be heard repeatedly during the night.
Road closed on 4 February.
Great place! Very quiet location next to a chalet, with an amazing view. No cars passed during the night. There is a water point and picnic tables. I recommend it 100%.
Incredible! A peaceful place! Completely quiet except for the cowbells ☺️. Magnificent sunset over the lake, picnic tables if needed—truly a place you must visit! Starting point for hikes.
Very nice view; we spent the evening and the night here. Absolute peace and quiet.
Perfect moment, with a view of Jaman and Lake Geneva just a few metres away. Rocked to sleep by the sound of cowbells. Please respect the place and leave nothing behind!
Quiet place with space for children to play. The only sound was the cowbells. We came via the road from Caux as recommended in the comments, and it was excellent! Magnificent mountain view.
Quiet and beautiful place, apart from the sound of cowbells. Very beautiful mountain views and Lake Geneva a 30-second walk away. A small fountain nearby is very convenient.
amazing view and quiet spot. only downside was lots of cows with bells around staring at us. but no problem once we had shut the door
Superb spot with a view of Dent de Jaman. It is refreshingly cool at this altitude. Close to Haut-de-Caux for hiking toward Rochers de Naye. However, take the road via the Le Coucou restaurant, which is safer and less steep than the route via Les Avants.
Very pleasant spot for one night. View over the lower valley. To get there, take the road via Caux, passing in front of the Le Coucou restaurant. Much quicker and, above all, much less dangerous.
Very nice view; we spent the evening and the night here. Flat parking area.
The place matches the description. We had a very good, quiet night, with a beautiful sunset over Lake Geneva and an equally lovely sunrise behind Dent de Jaman!
