Unnamed Road, 1016, Riga
Been here?
A sandy lakeside wild spot near Bolderaja that can be very quiet, especially outside the high season. Jet skis, quads and a few young people may create daytime or evening activity, while the road can be very sandy, bumpy and difficult to reach. Another route from the public beach is possible, but adequate ground clearance is needed.

I thought that with my 4x4 camper, a T4 Syncro, a bit of sand would not be a problem, but it was! I think I simply took the wrong road, for quads, and got stuck in the forest; it was hell getting out. But there is another way from the public beach. That one is a bit bumpy and sandy, but manageable. Do not go through the forest. It is a trap! The place is nice, but often used by locals.Translating
This place is absolutely horrendous. In fact, I did not even manage to get there. The road is not “slightly sandy”; some sections are entirely sand, and the other sections are very uneven and dangerous. I spent the night randomly in the woods on the way, and the next day it was a real nightmare to get out. I got stuck in the sand several times. Please avoid it at all costs.Translating
The best alternative after arriving at Seyðisfjörður harbour. Large site with grass-covered pitches. Sanitary facilities are fine. Booking in advance is advisable in high season, especially on days when the ferry arrives.Translating
