Been here?
A large parking lot beside the cathedral, near the main road and town centre, with no campsite facilities. A water fountain is available in the cathedral garden, and the nearby tourist information toilets cost 2 RON to use. Recent reports describe evening activity but silence from 10, although older comments mention noisy cars and disturbances at night. The lot is somewhat sloped and is mainly suitable for one night.

On Tuesday, good place for sleep. There is fountain of water in the garden. Lots of people go there for water. In evening youngs talking there. But at night, from 10 there was silence.
A car club turned up at 22:30 & started drifting in the car park. The police moved the off finally by 1am. Then two 12 year olds turned up on stolen bicycles, making a lot of noise. We moved on. 1 star because you cannot give 0 stars
Large free parking area. By the cathedral, lit, without amenities.
Fine for one night. All night, teenagers with their cars and various dubious characters were in the parking area. I could not sleep peacefully and left early in the morning.
Fine for one night, but no more. Until midnight, car engines and sound systems are tested on the main road. After midnight the testing stops and the night is quiet. The tourist information office with toilets is around the corner; use costs 2 RON. The parking area is free. Anyone who wants to give a tip to hobby parking attendants with homemade ID cards is welcome to do so.
Very large, slightly sloping parking area near the cathedral.
Very good place to spend the night, and the bonus is that there is water. You have to enter the monastery grounds; on the right, in a small building, you will find three self-service taps, where all the locals rush to fill their bottles.
We spent the night here before driving the Transfăgărășan. We had to pay 10 lei. You are next to a beautiful church with a park. Fine for one night.
Good because it is free. It is somewhat sloped here. We parked next to it, below the tourist information office. Undisturbed after the young car enthusiasts had left on Saturday evening. In the morning, souvenir stalls open there.
Great place for a break and overnight stay. The parking area is free at night. In the morning, from 8:00 a.m., a very pleasant man charges a fee of 2 LEI, so please do not skimp and pay the ticket properly. We left around 10:00 a.m.; the parking area was becoming crowded with pilgrims, and I had to correct my improper overnight parking. The kind man was helpful.
It is reasonably quiet at night. It is obviously right next to the main road, so you hear some traffic. We did not find it disturbing.
Noisy and unsettled. The parking attendant collects money. He wears an ID card. Lots of space, including for large vehicles.
