Mill Road, BN18, Arundel
Been here?
Free daytime roadside parking on a quiet street beneath Arundel Castle, next to pubs, the town centre and the castle entrance. Recent signs prohibit overnight camping and sleeping, so this is no longer suitable for overnight stays. The castle, town, toilets and cafés are within a short walk.

It's a no go zone here now because, as always, the scum ruined it. This road turned in to a full on shanty town, like a slum in India. Unsurprisingly the locals got fed up and now overnight parking is banned. If you do you'll get people driving past sounding their horns, revving engines etc. In some cases there have been attacks on vans overnight. And I don't blame them. BE RESPECTFUL!!!!
this is a wonderful spot on the edge of a cute village. seen some negative reviews but I never had any problems over summer 2024
Seen on Facebook today that signs have gone up on mill Road for no overnight camping/ sleeping. Photos of a very empty road. Sad as was a lovely spot
Summer 2024. A parking area beside the road, directly next to a truly worthwhile castle. The castle is amazing; we were thrilled.
During August I managed to find a spot on the road after 5pm when everyone leaves. Parked next to the castle. Toilets, cafe and Arundel town minutes away. Nice wide road so pedestrians not to close by. Lots of other vans and cars parked. Cars drive by but no more than most roadside spots. Car park is only £5 for the day if the roadside is full when you arrive.
Avoid this spot now as it's been ruined by people who empty thier toilets on the floor or in the ditch and leaving rubbish everywhere as well as bbqs so the locals are now vandalising any Campers that are parked down Mill Road you have been warned plus the council will be putting no over night parking signs up
Free parking spaces along the road. Directly below the castle. A nice playground right by the road. The only negative point: unfortunately, the public toilets were very dirty.
Peaceful spot right next to Arundel Castle and town, lovely meadow view and toilets in the carpark (which didn't require 20p). Felt safe. The town itself is wonderful with so many local shops and businesses we will definitely use this spot again. There is also a free water fountain close by.
Nice meadow. Castle in sight.
only stayed during the day. we were here for around 4 hours so nice to have it free and close to such a lovely town
Friendly locals walking dogs had no issues. Beautiful spot and ideal for exploring Arundel.
