Been here?
Karlova port is a 20-place gravel caravan park beside a port, with electricity, water, waste disposal and views of the river and boats. A recent stay cost 25€ for two people, with free choice of pitch, though the area becomes tight when full. The port building has a café, sauna and shower room, while the campsite has 2 toilets and 2 showers in a container. Construction nearby can cause morning noise, but Tartu’s centre is about 30 minutes away on foot.

We paid €25 for one night in a roof tent with two people. On the gravel area, you can choose your own space and electricity is available everywhere. When the site is full, it becomes quite cramped. However, it is perfect for visiting Tartu. We walked about 30 minutes to the old town. The sanitary facilities are in a container; there are too few at peak times, but they are clean.Translating
We spent three nights here. Excellent value for money and a very friendly operator family. Gravel site, electricity, fresh-water and disposal facilities, views of the river and boats, delicious food at the bar, and occasional events. For those who need them, there are two toilets and two showers in a container. You can cycle or take Bolt into the city, which is beautiful!Translating
Nice place with a few "buts." The campsite has two service rooms, each combining a toilet and shower. From time to time, this is not enough, as you cannot use the toilet when someone is showering. There is also a nearby construction site making a lot of noise in the morning.Translating
Perfect spot to stay overnight and enjoy beautiful Tartu. Toilet and shower always clean, with hot water 24/7. Friendly staff.Translating
The site is suitable for exploring Tartu in peace. You are welcomed warmly and, with some luck, can get a spot overlooking the river. In the evening, however, the site can become a little crowded. We highly recommend the nearby Hansa Tall restaurant.Translating
Despite being close to a main road, it is fairly quiet. The center is less than 20 minutes away on foot. We did not use the sanitary facilities, so we cannot comment on them. The site is fine for one or two nights.Translating
Very kind service. Good toilets, all facilities for campers: sewer, toilet, electricity, and water. Very good choice.Translating
Bad camper site: two toilets and two showers in an outdated container, no hand soap, no mirror. Everything is very basic. No dishwashing facilities. They have no competition, as it is the only camper site in the city, but it is poor.Translating
There is nothing beautiful here, only practicality. The sanitary facilities in the container are very old, but clean.Translating
Despite bridge works and the hardware store, it is fairly quiet. The sanitary facilities are adequate, clean, and have hot water. Nice for sitting outside in the evening with a view of the water. The city center is within walking distance, and Lidl is about 1 km away. €25 total.Translating
We stayed two nights. It really is very quiet, even though there is currently construction at the bridge above. It did not disturb us. Electricity, fresh-water and disposal facilities, and hot water in the shower were all excellent. However, paper towels were empty, there was no hot water at the sink, no dishwashing sink, and above all there was no cleaning on either day… luckily campers are not filthy animals ;-)Translating
Welcoming staff at reception. Quiet pitch despite being close to the city. Convenient for getting to the center. Small park nearby for walking the dog. Beautiful view of the harbor. Sanitary facilities perfect, with hot water and cleanliness.Translating
Excellent place for visiting Tartu. Located beside a beautiful canal, with restaurants next door and no disturbance. Toilet and shower available, though there are too few. Cleaned every morning. Quiet place with a friendly welcome.Translating
An ideal campsite for visiting Tartu. Within walking distance. It has everything you need. View of the water, quiet and clean.Translating
Everything great except the sanitary facilities. They are not heated. There was only ice-cold water at the washbasin. No soap. No mirror. We stayed there for about 24 hours and it was not cleaned even once. Toilet paper and paper towels were not replenished.Translating
Gravel site with a view of the river and a hardware store behind it. The advantage is its proximity to the center, but it is relatively noisy, and only one container with two showers and two toilets is available—unlike the excellent description. I found it only mediocre.Translating
The location was good, and it was convenient to get into town on foot.Translating
Very good place for visiting Tartu. You can get to the city center by bus, bicycle, or simply walk. The price at this time is reasonable; you should know that the toilets and showers are closed. But if you have a toilet and shower in your camper, there is no problem.Translating
Good campsite for visiting Tartu. Unfortunately, the access to the gray-water dump was blocked by barriers, and the sanitary container urgently needed cleaning in the morning.Translating
8.5 m. In on 23/09/2025, out on 24/09/2025. Paid camper area. €25 per 24 hours with electricity. Gravel surface. Night lighting. Traffic can be heard, but it decreases considerably at night and is easily bearable. The historic center is reachable on foot (2 km) or by bus 7, Rebase stop. Tickets can be bought on board. Freshwater and gray- and black-water disposal are available and reasonably convenient. Recommended.Translating
We stayed here for two nights. Very quiet, beautiful view of the river, shower, and excellent black- and gray-water disposal. Considering the rather high prices in the Baltic countries, this campsite at least offered something for €25 per night. We cycled to Tartu twice. Lidl is within walking distance.
Fine-gravel site at the marina, close to the city center and shopping facilities. Yes, the price is rather high for what is offered, but it is fine for one night.
We only used the services, namely emptying the black and gray water into two different drains, with the possibility of cleaning the cassette. On the other side, you can get drinking water. Total cost: €5. In addition, the young woman at reception is very pleasant. The place seems very suitable for spending the night. It is a shame there are no other places like this in Estonia. Thank you.
Neat campsite with everything you need. Two units with a toilet and shower in one container; they are clean. Chemical toilet and gray-water disposal available. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to wash dishes. But the location is good, about 2 km along the river to the city center.
Usable gravel site next to a restaurant and above a marina. Everything you need is available: fresh water, disposal, and electricity. Shower and toilet in the container—not perfect, but tolerable.
Superb spot with all disposal facilities and a fair price.
Spacious pitches, possibly by the water. Friendly and helpful staff. Water and disposal are available. Spacious shower. Otherwise basic.
We found a great campsite right by the water. By bicycle, we reached the center in 10 minutes; it is easy to cycle there, with good paths. Tartu is definitely worth a visit. The campsite is simple but has everything you need, and the lady at reception was very friendly.
A bit expensive for what it is: a gravel parking lot with two toilets/showers in a cabin. But facing the river is nice, good spot to visit Tartu and the staff is super friendly.
We only used the services. Good reception service. It is appreciated that the services are also available to people who are not staying overnight. €5, payable even by card.
Clean service area: €5 for drinking water and chemical-toilet disposal.
Toilets and showers on site, open 24/7, and they can be locked from the inside. Wi-Fi works poorly or not at all. Perfectly located next to the river, within cycling distance of all the sights.
Very friendly welcome. The container was clean and functional as described. Very good place for exploring the city, with a beautiful view of the water.
