Free seaside area, paid showers

Wonderful views, services included, and everything for a donation. Completely recommended area.

A car park on the seafront by the road. Felt a bit exposed when we arrived, but it quickly quietened down and we had a lovely view of the sea and had an un disturbed night (apart from the thunderstorm!) Waste disposal just across the road, and paid showers (but £1/min, and not easy to top up the machine whilst showering as the machine is in a different room!)

Great spot. Quiet. Great view of the sea. Patches of grass all around great for dogs. Real close to the mermaid of the North. Didn’t use the services but all looked great and clean. Donations of £10

Thanks for this wonderful spot. The shower situation needs a bit of planning since the two minutes start the moment you put in the coins. Don't forget to donate.

A peaceful night's sleep at a wonderful community motorhome parking area. Their paid facilities, such as the shower, washing machine and dryer, were very convenient and affordable. Free emptying of black water. Thank you, Seaboard Community Centre. We wish there were more of these types of motorhome parking areas in other parts of the UK. Aussie Globetrotters.

Excellent place. On the way, we stopped to buy eggs at the Egg Box Shop at a very good price: £11.80 for 60 eggs. We emptied the toilet and filled up with drinking water. The villagers were very kind and always smiling.

A charm-free car park beside a residential neighbourhood but with a beautiful sea view. The facilities are very practical and the toilets were clean. Grey water cannot be emptied through a ground grate, so we were unable to do it.

Fantastic free motorhome site with grey-water, black-water and fresh-water facilities. Toilet available, shower £2 in £1 coins. Beautiful place, with coastal walks with or without a dog.

The spot was lovely and the sculptures well worth a look. Very disappointed to see other campers parked very inconsiderately; we all have a duty to be as considerate as we can. Didn't stay the night but easily could have.

Perfect place for one night, but bring change for the shower and possibly the washing machine. Unfortunately, the rubbish bins were overflowing. Park considerately; many local residents also use the place for walks.

Really pleasant and quiet place to stay, despite the wind! Thanks to the local community for providing facilities, with toilets and showers open all night. It is good to have the option of showering, but £2 for two minutes does seem excessive, and time flies. £1 coins only for the shower, no card. Remember to leave a donation to keep this space and facilities running.

What a gem, well worth leaving the main road A9 to stay here. Fresh water, chemical toilet disposal point and showers at a cost of £2 for two minutes. Very quiet little village, friendly people. We were lucky enough to see dolphins up and down the coast the whole time we were there, two days. We will definitely return. Please donate to help keep this running. As advertised, but the washing machine does not work. It accepts money, but no water enters the machine.

Excellent stopover for emptying black and grey water; the latter requires an adapter. The drain is behind the building and the water point is at the front, via a tap next to the toilet door.

This is a great community project. It is good that the community had the insight to provide a much-needed service for motorhomes and campervans. Good spot, lovely view, paved and almost flat parking. But it is packed! Vans and motorhomes park right next to you, which is a real shame. I stayed because it is one of the few spots in the area.

Brilliant for the Seaboard, lovely little car park near the Mermaid of the North, with great facilities: chemical disposal, showers, toilets, washing machines and water. Water and chemical disposal are free. We used the showers and they were fine, £1 for two minutes, but they go from scalding hot to cold, so the temperature is erratic. We donated £5. These places are becoming rarer, so everything helps.

Excellent little stopover provided by the local town. Easy to pay your donation via the QR code. I did not use any services apart from the bins. Nice walk to the local beach to let the dog stretch his legs. Good night's sleep with excellent phone signal if needed.

Very nice car park directly by the sea. Tennis court and playground right next door, and opposite is a very clean toilet, shower, washing machine and dryer. We spent a quiet night here. Donation via QR code and cash for the facilities.

Very convenient. There is a chemical-toilet disposal point for emptying toilets, using green product only, behind the building, in exchange for a donation.

Very nice place where we were able to use the facilities and enjoy plenty of peace and quiet. The locals were very friendly.

We only happened to see the sign while passing through and stayed during the day. It would certainly also be highly recommended for one night. The familiar green disposal station is behind the building. The price for the washing machine and dryer seems to have increased by now; honestly, I did not understand exactly how or what.

Parked in the car park opposite and transferred to the roller tank up to the back of the building. Not the most practical, but it does the job. Fresh-water tap in front of the toilet entrance.

Nice car park opposite the sea, but the water-disposal cassette is behind the building and can only be reached on foot.

Lovely spot. Two-minute walk to the Mermaid of the North. Spar down the road, exceptionally clean toilets and shower. Chemical disposal and tap. Unfortunately, the tumble dryer did not dry our clothes even after 30 minutes, but it charged £2 for ten minutes, the same as the showers. Seven vans and two motorhomes here in total by the end of the night. Silent from all of them. The noise came from the locals. At 5:30 a.m. someone was talking outside the van. At 6 a.m. someone was cutting their grass, and then at 7 a.m. the caretaker arrived, for which we were very grateful because the facilities were lovely and clean, but he opened all the doors on his van and continued playing the radio very loudly while watering plants. Luckily we were already awake, but others were not and were soon woken. Throughout the evening, the locals gave us hostile looks and even when we tried to smile and say hello, they ignored us. Other than that, five stars. The view was amazing. It is a shame the locals are not supportive of van lifers.

Very strong smell of urine in the lay-by, as well as quite large oil stains everywhere. I was approached by angry locals who seemed upset that I had stopped to eat. Would not recommend.
