Unnamed Road, NE65
Been here?
A Forestry Commission car park for daytime visits, with walking routes to the Drake Stone, a nature reserve and a lake. The area is quiet and offers good hiking, although some spaces are sloped and military shooting may occur. A Forestry England ranger recently asked visitors not to stay overnight.

Great hiking nearby, although the military were using the land for shooting when we were there. Pretty villages and quiet roads.
was here today for about half an hour before we was politely asked to not spend the night by a forestry England ranger
A great, quiet place. Nice for hiking. We were the only campers there. Some spaces are a little sloped, but you can use pieces of wood lying around to level yourself. We went to the pub on Sunday: wonderful friendly service, very good pizza, and fresh tomato salad. We would love to come back :-)
Magnificent spot! Quiet, free, and with no prohibition signs. A beautiful 3 km hike leads to a magnificent view! Be careful, there is mud! Enjoy!
It’s open but forestry work currently being done in the area so not easy to stealth park for the night. Good space for daytime parking.
Good little spot for spending the night. Quiet, with a few locals parking there in the morning to go for walks. A forestry machine was parked next to it and made a little noise when leaving to go farther into the forest. A short walk up the trail leads to a magnificent view!
Very nice and quite place to park. Drake stone well worth a visit. Nice surroundings. No signal at all
Back open again, plenty spaces, some level, near a road but little traffic after 10pm, short walk to decent pub and good walking from the car park
Car park is currently closed and there is no signal in the area
Arrived late last night, the whole car park has been destroyed by storms. All the trees have fallen, good job I wasn't parked here whilst it happened. Looks like Godzilla ripped through. Park just outside the village at the castle car park instead. No issues but lots of Army vehicles passing through which made me a little uneasy. locals seem nice. :)
