Parking near Chartres cathedral, 2 km away (30-min walk via river bike path). Supermarket, bakery, pharmacy 5 min walk away. 4 € per night, no services. Shaded under mature trees but low-hanging branches may scratch tall vans. Quiet at night but noisy from road traffic from 5 am onward. Good for city visits or overnight stops.

Good for a stopover, but noisy from 5 a.m.; busy road. Supermarket and bakery 5 minutes’ walk away.
Great place. Attention for overcab motorhomes: the height can be an issue because of low-hanging branches beside the parking bays. Service facilities are 500 m before the campsite. €4 is reasonable; everything is clean and spacious. Otherwise the place is quiet and safe, and road traffic noticeably decreases at night. The city, especially the cathedral light show from 10:30 p.m., is fantastic.
Perfect for a stop and for visiting Chartres, with excellent services nearby! Some passing cars but no loitering. Thanks to the municipality.
Excellent location with plenty of parking spaces. Just 2 km from the cathedral, a beautiful 30-min walk or bike ride along the river. Only 400m to Intermarché, a pharmacy, and a bakery open 7 days a week. There is an outdoor workout zone 70m away. Shady parking under mature trees is perfect for hot days. Parking is free of charge.
Roadside parking without services quiet at night cycle path nearby ideal for walking dogs or going for a run bin nearby shaded spaces ideal for the cathedral, 45 minutes on foot, or for resting one night 5 minutes’ walk from Intermarché, the pharmacy, and the Banette bakery
Really good spot, arrived at 3pm, quite a few places left, 30min walk to cathedral, 5 mins to an intermache, near a road but no problem , no facilities , pretty level but we did use our ramps, plenty room to get your chairs out.
Nice area with parking free. Park/outdoor gym style thing near by. A far few cars coming and going in morning and evening for dog walks etc. Felt unsafe in the night with a women
The site is superbly located and very well designed. But the trees have now grown downward, so even vans are likely to get scratched. Two or three parking spaces with clear overhead space are occupied by a Mini Cooper and a Smart (!). The barriers are apparently meant to protect against motorhomes, while here they protect motorhomes from cars. Very disappointing!
Perfect for visiting Chartres if you like walking, about 2 km from the center via a paved route. The only drawback is that the Mobil network is not very good.
The location and charm of a carpool parking area. There is an excellent campsite nearby.
Great free stop under the cover of tress which was great during the heat wave and kept the van cool. As already stated it’s by a main road but there is hardly any traffic at night. The thing that keep us awake we’re the Green Frogs with their mating calls at night - OMG they were relentless!
Great little park up. Have a lovely walk into town via the river. It is by a road but was quiet at night.
Very convenient area for visiting Chartres and its sublime cathedral. A little muddy this season but no problem parking, even with a large vehicle. The road is nearby, so be careful with dogs, but the nearby greenway gives them space to run safely. I recommend it despite the traffic noise during the day; it is quiet at night.
Lots of trees, but cars occupy the spaces, which is a shame.
Great place; we spent one night here. Quiet space between the pitches. The town empties the bins in the morning. We recommend it.
No services, but ideally located for visiting Chartres by bike or on foot.
Thank you to the municipality for creating this flat, tree-lined parking area, very close to the city center via greenways on foot or by bike. And the best part is that it’s free. There is a road next to it, of course, but very little traffic at night. For services, go to the campsite just behind it.
This is not a motorhome area but a simple parking lot for all vehicles, without services. The very nearby road is still clearly present, including at night. Chartres, rated four flowers, is not at all up to the standard of its label. There is a small Saturday morning market where you have to elbow your way through. A beautiful cathedral worth discovering.
Only 4/5 because of the road on one side albeit relatively quiet. Supermarket laundry facilities around the corner pleasant walk along the river to the town and cathedral both worth the effort. Amazing free facility much appreciated.
Very well located, with the cathedral 30 minutes away on foot along the river, which is very pleasant. Very quiet in the evening and we feel comfortable here.
Motorhome parking ideally located, 8 minutes from the city center by bike. Numerous cycle paths and safe routes for bicycles. Thank you to the municipality for all these improvements.
Very large free parking area for motorhomes. Very convenient for visiting Chartres and the Picassiette Museum (1.5 km) and the Tanière zoo refuge (5 km). Great walk along the Eure. No services in the parking area, but they are available at the neighboring campsite (€4). Dusty in dry weather and muddy when wet. Lol. Something for everyone…
Nice free pitch, fine for one night. On the other side there is a large supermarket and a tasty pizza kiosk.
Thank you to the municipality for welcoming us. Large space. Close to a supermarket, bakery, laundromat, and 20 minutes on foot from the cathedral. Thanks also to the municipal police for their welcome. We recommend it.
Nice convenient park up without services (just bins). Lovely walk through the park to the city centre and Cathedral. Next to road but was quiet at night. Got busy with vans at around 5.30pm.
Parking without services, just bins. I arrived while it was raining heavily, so it was a little muddy. However, there is grassland opposite and a waterway nearby where animals can run around. Traffic during the day but quiet at night. We slept well. Ideal for spending one night or visiting the cathedral.
Beautiful place. We spent a very pleasant night without any problems. Thank you for the free services.
Strip of land next to a road. Pleasant walk into the centre. Small plastics and rubbish bins. Some noise in the morning.
Valuable parking near the city, with shops within walking distance. The cathedral is 3 km away along the river or 2.5 km by road. The road alongside the parking area is very busy during the day. The night was very quiet. Traffic resumes around 7 a.m.
Hello. This is my second time here, great place. I spoke with someone who lives here, but their installation caught fire; only a pile of ashes remains. I hope they are okay.
Careful!! Sinkhole, ditch, or similar. It’s large, and if you arrive at night you can’t see it; it isn’t marked. Otherwise, fine.
Excellent location for the city. Lovely walk along the river. Very quiet despite being close to the road. Would reccomend and return.
Lovely central location and an easy walk into the beautiful town of Chartres. No services and slightly slopping but easily fixed with levellers. Shops and fuel station just around the corner. Would stay here again. Thank you to the local council for providing this aire.
Very quiet area tonight, pitches well defined and clean. Pleasant access to the city along the Eure. Thank you to the city of Chartres for allowing motorhome travelers to visit this lovely city.
Quiet area, stabilized ground, bins nearby. Thank you to the city of Chartres for providing this parking area.
Decent spot to stop at but at this time of year with it being a dirt car park hard not to get the dirt in the van especially with the dog. Not complaining very thankful for the town for having the spot would defo use again especially if weather was better
25 minutes on foot to visit the city center and cathedral. Intermarché 5 minutes away. Level pitches with a view over the Eure valley. Not too noisy at night. Perfect for one or two nights. Thank you to the city.
Parked here to go and see the light show in the city centre. Nice park up yes traffic but didn’t bother us.
