21 Rua Amilcar Crespo, 6000, Castelo Branco
Been here?
A small, free motorhome area beside a green park and a police station, with water and waste services currently working. It has no shade, and the parking spaces are on a steep slope, so ramps or chocks are needed. The centre is about 15 minutes away on foot, with supermarkets and fuel 5 minutes away by car. Nights are usually quiet, although a nearby park event once continued until 5 in the morning.

A very clean area with everything easily accessible. A pleasure!Translating
Area located on a sloping street; the parking spaces have a steep incline, so leveling blocks are required for comfortable rest. Services working properly.Translating
Small area, but quiet and safe. It is right in front of the police station. The village can also be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. It was a Portuguese holiday and there was an event in the adjacent park that lasted until 5 a.m., but we are guests, so we cannot complain! :)Translating
Small but very convenient and free area to spend a peaceful night while visiting Portugal. We used it multiple times on our way to Spain and France. Thank you for the municipality for making this available. Adriana e Arnaldo
Between a lightly traveled road and a small park. Waste disposal and water, all with little maintenance. Useful for one night, but nothing more. Maximum six motorhomes; at least it exists.Translating
V+E works perfectly. Six spaces, yes, but not if everyone parks across them. Directly by the road.Translating
Quiet and safe night with only three other motorhomes. Very good location, next to a park for walking the dogs, and everything very clean and well maintained. Thank you to the municipality, and let’s hope users know how to keep this place pleasant.Translating
Good location, easy to walk to the center, near a big park and safe, nice views. Service area is well maintained. Quiet night
Only parked up here for about 3 hrs whist we walked into the old town, only 2 other campers on the park up. It was clean and felt safe as it was right next to a police station. Would have stopped, but had other plans
Super quiet, level, easy to find and access. 5 minutes drive from supermarkets and fuel. Great little site.
A good place, well located although a little uneven, which can be solved with leveling ramps. Thank you to the municipality.Translating
It is very good. Everything is very clean for emptying and filling water. There is also a good park next to it with a lake, in case you come with a dog. The center is about a 15-minute walk away.Translating
Cracking wee aire, facilities as described. plenty of parks around one right next to the Aire which continues across the road. A larger one down the road Parque de Cidade with beautiful walks, lakes and fountains. Jardim do Paco next to park Cidade. Shopping mall and a variety of supermarkets. Unfortunately not many restaurants open due to the adverse weather. Definitely recommend.
Good facilties, all works. Generally, the area is a bit of a non event. A ten minute walk, however is a very friendly restaurant, O Choco. The owners speak good English and despite the menu being a bit limited due to the weather, the food was superb and very good value. Highly recommended. Try the little pig, if you're a pork fan.
A small area for parking and overnight stays, with basic services. It is a little far from the center but quiet, and the police facilities next door provide some peace of mind.Translating
A perfect campground area. We emptied water and filled up with fresh water, and everything worked properly. Thanks to the city.
A reassuring place at the foot of a police station. All services except electricity. Beautiful park for walks.Translating
Adequate for waters service, besides shall be convenient another transversal grid (otherwise, we have to go a little on the street to reverse). Doubt about parking position: on line or parallel? If parallel mode, length is short for usual motorhome length. Both modes require wedges.
Neat area, everything works, all spots are in a slop so wedges are mandatory, very big park nearby, mall and many shops at a short walking distance, more suitable in Autumn or Winter since this region in Portugal is famous for its very hot and dry temperatures that can be agonizing in a vehicle even with an air conditioner, there is a main road at the back and the noise is substantial. No shades!
Two campervans are present; the remaining spaces are occupied by passenger cars.
Two motorhomes on site, the rest occupied by cars.Translating
Thank you to the municipality for making this area available, with a maintenance zone and water supply. It is a little sloped but easily manageable, close to the center and located in a quiet area next to the PSP building.Translating
Free services and a quiet site... except on concert evenings!Translating
Very good for sleeping, next to the police station and with good views. Some spaces are slightly uneven but nothing significant.Translating
Super quiet place to sleep, with all services: filling water, emptying waste, and cleaning the toilet cassette. The police station is next door, and opposite there is a machine for washing motorhomes; at the end of the street there is a Pingo Doce supermarket. Dechatlon nearby. The center is a 20-minute walk away, where you can see Templar castles, Templar gardens, the Episcopal Palace, and a charming center. Five minutes by car.Translating
Another municipality friendly to motorhome tourism. Quiet location in the city, next to the urban park and the police. Services working perfectly. Excellent place for good walks around the city. Municipal swimming pools very close to the area. Thank you to Castelo Branco City Council for making it available.Translating
I parked there only for a few hours in the afternoon to fill up with water and visit the city, which unfortunately is not very interesting. Potable and non-potable water available. Toilet emptying. No shade at all.Translating
Thank you very much to the municipality for this place, close to the center, 20 minutes on foot. Reassuring at night, next to the municipal police, with services also available.Translating
Thank you to the municipality for allowing us to spend a night. Earplugs are advisable because it is near a busy road! We felt reassured because the police are next door. Twenty-five minutes from the center; go and see the gardens!Translating
Perfect for a break. Close to town. Quiet.Translating

It looks like a good place but it is completely full, with several motorhomes even parked on the opposite side. We are going to the shopping-center area.
Simple stop to use the free services.

I agree with kowal83 excellent description, the site maybe sloping but nothing that a pair of ramps can't cure. We spent a peaceful night with the local lights illuminating the site, thank you to the local authority for providing a free site for motorhomes.
