This large picnic area provides a practical overnight stop about 3 km from the ferry embarkation for Norway. It has space for several motorhomes and is generally quieter than the port area, with trees and picnic benches. Nearby road traffic is usually light at night, although occasional fast cars or horn noises have been heard. There are no services, sanitary facilities, or reliably available bins.

Good place a few minutes from the ferry. Quite calm, but we also had some honking around 2 a.m....
Excellent place if you are taking the ferry the next day, as the terminal is only 5–6 minutes away. However, one or two cars still drove past quite fast in the evening.

When we arrived at night, there were already three others there. It was not a problem; we still found a reasonably level spot and could spend a relaxed night until the ferry. No services, no sanitary facilities; please make sure to take everything with you.
We spent a very quiet night in this car park after the ferry crossing. The next morning there were some curious looks from passing hikers and cyclists, but it did not bother us and nobody said anything. There was only one other vehicle beside us. We doubt the car park really accommodates seven vehicles, at least if they are not just vans.
Quiet place in the middle of the forest, right beside a stream. Ideal for continuing on to the ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark, to Kristiansand, Norway, in the morning.

Beautiful and quiet place when taking an early boat or arriving late by boat. The locals do not appreciate overnight stays, as shown by several passers-by who felt the need to honk while driving past. When we left the car park at 7:45 a.m., someone even gave us the finger. There is no sign saying that overnight stays are not allowed here…
Beautiful place to sleep for one night before taking the ferry. A few idiots honk in the evening and morning as they drive past.
Good place if you arrive late from the ferry. We stayed here from 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. and were honked at three times for several seconds by a passing car, including late in the evening and early in the morning… It is a shame that overnight stays here are apparently not welcome.

Great place for one night. Very peaceful. Close to the road, but it should be quieter out of season.
Small car park without services. It was pleasantly quiet at night, with some cars during the day. About 3 minutes to the beach, where cars are allowed to drive. An otherwise beautiful path for walking, unfortunately with lots of toilet paper and what comes with it. At least bury it! Perfect for spending one night before taking the ferry.
