We arrived on a Sunday; there was no need to pay because it was free. Ideally located less than ten minutes' walk from the city center, beside the river.
Ideal parking for visiting the city. Free after 7 p.m. Overnight stays are not allowed. The center is ten minutes away.
Okay for spending the day. Free on Sundays. When we returned to the camper, there was a notice from the town hall warning that wild camping is prohibited throughout the city, with a €363 fine.
We drove there and several parking spaces were free! Not far from the old town. We did not find a ticket machine and stayed for several hours without any problems.
You need a lot of luck to find a free space here. When we were there, this street and all surrounding streets were completely full of parked cars. Incidentally, in the entire city of Salzburg it is forbidden to spend the night in a motorhome outside campsites. (Source: the city's official website.)
