357G Simmentalstrasse, 3763, Därstetten
Been here?
Tarmac roadside parking opposite the train station on the Simmentalstrasse, free of charge. Traffic noise is noticeable during the day but quietens overnight, roughly 10pm to 5am. A fountain provides fresh water (jerricans only, no hose fitting) and there's a small playground, but no other facilities. A petrol station and supermarket sit across the road, plus a pub. No signage bans overnight parking and several travellers have slept here without issue, though it's not the most scenic spot; a quieter alternative is the church car park further down the road.

I stopped at 2 p.m. to get water. There was a lot of traffic and it was fairly noisy, but perhaps it is quieter at night. It is not possible to connect a hose to the fountain; it is only for filling jerry cans. However, you can park right next to it.
It is okay, it is free, and it served its purpose for us before we set up camp the following day. The site is on a main road, so it is very noisy once traffic starts, and is opposite both a petrol station and a food supermarket. There is also a pub across the road selling nice beer.
Beside the road and opposite a schoolyard. There is a water point but no shade. No services except a playground belonging to the school. A petrol station is just behind it. Not ideal, but there is no sign prohibiting overnight parking. Given how rare that is, respect the place.
Not the most beautiful place, and traffic starts again at 5 a.m. The night is quiet from 10 p.m. until about 5 in the morning.
Simple large car park. We stayed overnight without problems. There is also a fountain for fresh water. There is also a small playground for children. A good place to sleep while passing through, without worrying about getting a fine.
If you continue down the road to the church car park, you will be completely quiet and surrounded by greenery. Free parking.
Arrived late and left early in the morning. Landi supermarket and petrol station across the road. There are no facilities and next to a school. Good for one night.
