Meadow parking, quiet setting

It is an uncultivated meadow; perhaps the parking sign is wrong, or it is unclear how to park in the meadow, and a nearby fountain requires €10. No services other than water are available. There is a beautiful camping area with all services and a bar very close by. Look carefully.

Wonderfully secluded! And very close to Greece’s oldest oracle, with a well-preserved theater.

We had been warned by previous posts about the €10. We decided to spend the night here anyway. Drinking water just outside the parking area. The meadow was in full bloom. A beautiful place! On January 1, 2025, the law on wild camping in Greece apparently changed. If you still want to put your chairs outside at a beautiful, peaceful camper spot, you’ll be glad you can find places like this!

It is just an unkempt meadow. We drove on.

We stopped at this place thinking it's free, as the sign is similar like in other free camper places in Greece, usually provided by villages/towns. Then we checked the place at P4N. Not gonna spend the night and leaving because we feel if it's paid, the fee should be at the entrance. Apart from that, it's a lovely place. Just miss this transparency.

As in April 2018, we spent a wonderfully peaceful night beside the fountain. We did not even look for the paid pitch. This time we walked the short distance to the ancient site of the Oracle of Dodona and saw the amphitheater and other excavations. Definitely worth visiting; admission for adults is €8, pensioners pay half.

Very pleasant night and, as announced, the owner Emilio came to collect €10 for making HIS land available. We had coffee together and received a warm welcome. BUT during that time, the motorhome parked at the entrance left without paying what it owed, like thieves. That is dishonest and disrespectful to the locals! Be respectful, just as the hosts welcome you—we are on their property!

We arrived at night and the place seemed perfect. But the next morning the parking owner had blocked our exit with his car and pretended to be digging in front of our van. When we opened the door, he almost came inside to ask us for €10! It is theft. No sign said that parking was paid... We refused and he left.

We got stuck! So BE CAREFUL on rainy days. In the morning a man who spoke only Greek came and wanted €10 from us. He said it was private property.

Five-star spot, but at this time of year do not drive onto the grass—it is really waterlogged. It seems free to me; otherwise the costs should be displayed at the entrance. We had a very cold night (-8°C) because it is at a higher elevation. Beautiful views of the snow-covered mountain peaks.

A sign points to the place, and it is obviously private—so it is perfectly fair to have to pay for it. The night was quiet, and the view of the surrounding mountains is lovely. Please take your toilet paper with you (just put it in the bin—what’s the problem?!); there was a corner with some... Otherwise everything is clean and attractive. The fountain is at a turnoff shortly before or after the site.

Very beautiful, but the field had not been cut at this time of year, so there were lots of bees. We went next door, in front of the fountain, where there was almost no traffic—ideal with a dog.
