The climb is steep, and it is preferable not to meet anyone coming the other way. I do not recommend it for motorhomes. Superb view of the rock, which is 100 meters away. A quiet place to sleep—once the very courteous young rap fans have left.
Narrow and steep path. We gave up.
Motorhome heaven! A friendly welcome, home-cooked food, great beer and, of course, a large, level and very quiet camping field. You can’t ask for much more than that!
Narrow and steep path. We gave up.
Amazing and friendly place, ideal for RV travelers arriving via Harwich in the UK and heading north. Sally and Boyd are so warm, and the overnight stay in the wide grass field behind the pub provided excellent sleep. We were also able to refill our RV’s drinking water. Full-menu kitchen with tasty homemade food. What more could we wish for? Warmly recommended.
If there were 10 stars, then... Super nice and friendly. I would gladly come again; highly recommended.
Love this place ! great food at the pub stayed for 2 nights quiet and peaceful nights sleep, did a litter pick. Had breakfast and evening meal. No knocks, no boy racers, and no nosey dog walkers looking in the windows.
Spent 1 night in this lovely village pub car park. Very friendly bar staff, good reasonably priced food and a peaceful night's sleep. Small village store located a convenient 3 minutes' walk away.
Super-nice host and welcome, large meadow (with a bulky-waste heap...). We've certainly had better food (probably just the kitchen's form that day). All in all, we had a lovely evening and a quiet night.
Excellent spot. Parked in the field out back, very peaceful. Ate in the pub both nights; the food was fabulous. Fish and chips to die for. Boyd and Sally are great hosts. If passing, you must stop.
Lovely landlords, Sally & Boyd. Lovely locals. Nice food & the field to stay in. Worth a stopover visit.
Lovely pub, great food, and friendly owners. nice field. Pubs like this are why we rarely stay in campsites anymore!
Stayed here last night. Car park only as it is winter. Warm welcome by owners. Great food and drink. Had a blast chatting with the locals. Definitely will be back again.
Great stay! Ticks all the boxes, free stay, free WC, opens from 4, food served from 4 not Mondays. Campers very welcome. Very nice landlord. Very helpful. Nice beer!
We took the Stena Line day ferry and made a stopover for the night here. We’ve got a very friendly welcome and took some drinks in the pub before going to sleep. Lovely owners and stay, we certainly will come back.
Enough space behind the pub, extremely friendly people. Quiet place.
such a friendly pub and owners. Toilets were open at night. clean facilities. our parking place was in the corner of the field. lovely quiet night . very peaceful. it was a great place to have a few drinks and watch the England match. Very sporadic mobile coverage. would definitely stay again
