Grassy views, daytime traffic

Great spot this one. Did look at the one around the corner, but there were already 3x campers there already. Had this one to ourselves. Can park away from the road, with some cover from the gorse bushes. Food at the Eskdale near the train station was fab. Treated to a spectacular sunrise out the back doors.

Beautiful location with stunning views. Peaceful night. No facilities. Short walk into village of Castleton. Thoroughly recommend.

I parked at the other spot near here and didn’t experience anyone beeping their horn, can only imagine it’s happening here as people are driving on the grass and causing damage. The other spot (listed on P4N) is gravelled and very large, can’t imagine it would ever be full even on a busy day. Still stunning views and good 4G so perhaps try there instead.

Good stay with better views. Only kickback is occasional horn from farmers/locals near road. Also located near ancient turkey burial ground which is very exciting indeed!!

beautiful place with a view, nice and flat on grass. however very close to the road and exposed to view, passing car horned angrily at us. not as quiet and secluded as I had hoped.

What a wonderful place. So beautiful! The road is a little busier than I had hoped, though that may be because it is the weekend. The views are incredible, and if you park near the bushes you are reasonably sheltered from the wind.

Pretty flat, big gorse bushes on both sides help with privacy, easy to drive on and off. Lovely view and walking distance to Castleton which has a toilet, pub, Co-op etc. Rabbits and sheep everywhere. Lots of cars driving by during the day but quiet at night. The local pub has good food and local beer. Come in via the town for easier access, but watch out for lambs.
