Poorly maintained area, faulty electricity

Motorhome area in the worst category, a camper permanently parked on site. Also a very dirty area where people live year-round, and I won't even explain what kind of people. Absolutely avoid.

The electricity has been redone, but it is a great shame that an alcoholic individual living in a van amid total chaos, who comes out of his shower tent completely naked and insults certain people he dislikes, is staying there. He is responsible for many electrical faults and for the police being called to calm him down.

Motorhome area very far from the beach, 45 minutes on foot. Some people squat there year-round, giving it the appearance of a rubbish dump at first glance. Very poorly maintained, grass not cut. All this for more than €15 per night. The only positive point is the Intermarché 5 minutes away.

Warning: half of the electrical outlets are out of order. As a result, the ones that work are almost all occupied. It is a real shame, especially given the price. Not cool.

Probably a few seasonal workers staying by the month. No problem finding a space at this time of year.

To ease some of the concerns caused by the comments: for a stopover of one or two nights, the site is absolutely fine. I can understand most of the criticisms, but we felt safe among the long-term campers. Those we spoke to were nice. The motorhome next to us had a motion detector, which also made us feel safer. Electricity worked.

What is the management doing? This area had everything to satisfy most motorhome travelers, but it is now unrecognizable! I believe in living together, but enough is enough; some people's behavior is unacceptable... and I am still being polite! Action must be taken against this decline.

This area used to be good, with people who respected their neighbors. Now it has become a camp for more or less homeless people. There are also many cars, reducing the space for those who just want to stop for one night. What a shame.

Everything has been said in the previous comments. Be careful before entering: there may be free spaces at the machine but not on the site. Dirty and unwelcoming surroundings for the price. The area is nevertheless very well signposted by the municipality; it is surprising that Canet-Plage endorses this encampment.

Area on compacted dirt, not marked out, complete anarchy. Electricity often trips, especially in the third row. Too far from the sea, and the surroundings are not great.

Unbelievable, there are plenty of parking spaces on the site, but the stupid machine says there are no spaces available. Various long-term campers are here and generously occupy the site, showing disregard for others. France is no fun at all for motorhome travel like this, either for the countryside or the people.

The condition of the electrical outlets is poor; the power trips regularly. The maintenance of the area and its appearance as a camp for traveling people, with trailers, cars, tents, etc.... Is this what a private motorhome area in southern France is supposed to be? What a joy!

For your information, the few spaces available in the row at the back do not have electricity. The voltage is insufficient for that row.

I arrived at this paid area by chance and was able to park because there were two or three spaces left. This place is indeed very popular with regulars, probably because of the relatively moderate discounts for longer stays. Quiet, clean area with working services. Very useful during this particularly cold period.

This is outrageous. We arrive at the area and there are many motorhomes with awnings and cars taking two or three spaces. This is not a campsite. Honestly, move on... I will not come back.

Well located but not very well maintained... the services work properly. Indeed, many motorhomes stay long-term, leaving little space for those just passing through.

Disappointing. It is an unsupervised, poorly fenced place; you park wherever you can, and some vehicles occupy much more than one space with cars and trailers. Long stays are allowed, so some people literally live there. At night there is hardly any lighting. On the positive side, the village with supermarkets and shops is nearby, and the area has water, electricity, and disposal services. Expensive for what it offers.

It is outrageous. You book online and pay much more than what is displayed on the sign there; you cannot contact the manager, and then you are left there for nothing and have to find another campsite. It is bizarre that this is still listed on the site!! If you want to be ripped off, you should definitely go here. SCAMMERS.

The pitches are not marked out; some motorhomes are set up like at a campsite, with awnings and so on. Nevertheless, we slept well and peacefully at this ideally located area for visiting the city.

Honestly, move on if you can. Many residents; this area is a mess. The spaces are not marked out, so you pay thinking there is room, but in reality you drive around and discover that people take more space than necessary, as if deliberately. The only positive point is access to the beach via a cycle path 2.5 km away.

It used to be good, but now it is a mess. There are residents who park their cars, while others park anywhere and take more space than they need. There are concrete pads with electricity, four outlets per pad, and four motorhomes. It starts at the back of the site, with ten motorhomes per aisle, but some aisles have five motorhomes because they take so much space. You can enter, but you cannot find a place. Be careful when driving through the aisles because some people use hoses to fill their motorhomes without moving, and they get upset if you drive over them. It was not like this before. On top of that, there is no way to contact the owner: you have to call or send an SMS, but he never replies. What a shame.

Water, electricity, and disposal included in the price. Very good value. A greenway 50 meters away leads to an Intermarché and the port. Slept well. Be aware that it is next to a site with trucks and machinery, so there is noise in the morning; do not expect to sleep late. But for the price, nothing to complain about. You can stay for a month for barely €300.

It is regrettable that the pitches are not defined, as this would prevent conflicts and abuse. It is impossible to contact the owner, who answers neither the phone nor SMS nor email.

Pleasant area, Intermarché 10 minutes away on foot. Water and electricity included.

Of course, this area is adjacent to Canet's technical services site, but the nights are completely quiet. The payment machine no longer causes problems once you understand how it works. Do not miss visiting the church and the small shops, including the delicatessen Au Terroir Gourmand on Place St Jacques, with its good regional products, as well as the butcher next door.

It deserves to exist, which is the justification for one star. The payment system is the problem: no receipt is issued. We helped a Dutch couple who paid €15.80 but did not receive the code. We tried through the machine and then by calling the number on the sign, but only reached voicemail with no help. The poor couple paid and had to leave.

Well located. Maintenance leaves something to be desired. For entry, do not use transmission by email; it does not work.

Very quiet during the day and at night, with all amenities within walking distance. I recommend it.
