Viale Bernardo Gaggini, 16032, Camogli
Been here?
A spacious, flat parking area with magnificent views over the Bay of Camogli, now open again after the works. It is quiet and suitable for overnight stays, although pumps beneath the parking area can be noisy depending on the pitch. Access follows a tight, winding road and the location is remote, with no services. Camogli is 15 min by car, and the trail to San Fruttuoso takes about 2h/30.

Very good spot, it is open again. We had a very quiet night and a nice view. The only thing was that there were no services or poor service. The road leading up to the parking spot is also narrow.
Lovely spot but closed as of 2/7/26 for the duration of the works—no idea how long the works will last.

Parking up in the hills. A wild boar visited us during dinner, and there were lots of fireflies at night. Indeed, far from everything, with a surprising access road (follow “Hotel”). We did the hike to San Fruttuoso Abbey. Bring good shoes and set off early. For experienced walkers. Lots of people on the small beach when arriving (beautiful, but disappointed by the crowds).
A quiet place with beautiful views for spending the night, but very far from everything if you want to use it as a base to visit somewhere. Watch the entrance! It is via Viale Bernardo Gaggini, through the gate of an old hotel.
The kind of parking spot you dream of in this part of Italy. The road at the exit of the town and the turn onto the road leading here are confusing, as it looks like you are entering a hotel car park. I had to try three times. Unbeatable views of the bay from the best spots.
Nice, calm, you won’t be bothering anyone. Close and convenient to go to the beach (about 15 min drive to Santa Margharita). Tons of fireflies in the evening so quite special. The views are nice. There was something that made a bit of noise, but not enough to bother us - and quite a few vans so you probably won’t be alone
The parking area is not closed. At the start of the road in town, a sign misleadingly says that the road is private, but it is open. Recommended for sleeping and setting off on foot to San Fruttuoso. It takes about 2 hours 30 minutes from the parking area. Camogli is 15 minutes by car. Walking uphill from the town takes about 1 hour 20 minutes. Wild boars, cats and fireflies present! Beautiful sea view.
Great park up, lots of space, quiet, a few other campers there on a Friday night in June which was nice. Windy roads to get up there but standard for Italy, we were fine in our Mercedes sprinter long wheel base!
Quiet and very peaceful parking area. In the evening there is good company from several other motorhomes and cars. Recommended.
A fantastic place! Remote, but with a Vespa in tow it is not far from Portofino and Genoa. The police occasionally stop by but say nothing. We are here with a 3-metre-high camper, which can easily get up the winding access road under the trees. Lots of nice people here. In the evening you can see many fireflies and sometimes wild boars, which come because people occasionally leave their rubbish here. All in all, a perfect free place to stay with a view.
Very beautiful view of the sea and the Bay of Genoa. A loud ventilation system ran all night. In the evening we heard wild boars nearby, and there was also quite a lot of rubbish at the site. We stayed there for one night on 17 May.
You can no longer park here; it has been privatized by a hotel.
Quiet place with a beautiful view over the Bay of Genoa. We stayed for three nights and did two hikes. It is possible to find water 700 metres away along the hiking trails.
Very beautiful, quiet parking area! We stayed there for one night on 18 May with four other campers (still plenty of space). Very clean compared with other parking areas. We felt very safe and the view is truly beautiful. Worth a visit.
Went to this site today 5th May and the parking area is closed off with building materials .this looks like serious work being done do the site will be closed to campers for some time by the look of it.
Beautiful place, a true paradise. But there is a problem: too many campers use the woods as a toilet. If you continue defecating everywhere, leaving toilet paper in plain sight without burying anything, they will end up closing access to everyone. Show some decency! Because of a few inconsiderate people, we risk losing a wonderful place. Respect nature or it will become inaccessible to everyone.
Large scenic parking area, good for sleeping and walking in Portofino Park. When we arrived, many vans and campers were already there, parked diagonally and taking up the spaces. The surrounding woods are very dirty. There should be more respect for nature, but also a little more consideration when parking so there is room for others.
Good park up in an area that’s quite limited to find a good night spot. There were many of us, probably 10+ but everyone very respectful. The view is lovely but you can’t see it from every spot due to the overgrown area. Relatively flat. I’ve rated 4 stars instead of 5 because sadly at the start of the hiking trail it’s full of tissues from humans using the toilets. Really sad.
Very beautiful place, wonderful view; apparently closed from tomorrow, 28 April, for the coming days due to construction work involving helicopter transport.
Magnificent view! Plenty of space. Very quiet night!
Great parking for visiting Camogli; during our visit it was closed until 23 April 2026 because the parking area was being used for helicopter loading and unloading. I was also looking for water but could not find any, so I do not know whether it is still available.
Currently under construction and therefore closed. A shame, because the view is incredible.
Flat parking area surrounded by nature, with unreal silence broken only by birdsong at dawn. Spectacular view. Starting point for many beautiful walks.
Excellent spot with a beautiful view. There were other vans, but it was very quiet. Excellent for starting hikes to San Fruttuoso or Portofino.
