90 Theresienstraße, 76835, Rhodt
Been here?
This paid gravel parking area offers approximately 8 vehicles among vineyards, only a few meters from the town. It costs 10 Euro, and the payment app is currently reported not to work. There are no services or waste facilities beyond garbage collection, while some areas are sloped. The setting is very quiet at night, with beautiful views and easy access to Rhodt’s historic center.

The app does not work. From €4 to €10 just for parking? Thanks and goodbye. We will go somewhere else.
Thanks to the municipality of Rhodt for the beautiful place. I cannot really understand the price increase, especially since motorhome travelers use the local restaurants. But on the other hand, whoever can afford a motorhome can also pay €10 for parking. The new payment method via PayByPhone is a problem. It works poorly and I am forced to share my data. Minus two stars for that.
Beautifully located parking area on the edge of the Haardt, in the middle of the vineyards. Wonderful view of Rietburg and the Palatinate Forest with more castle ruins, Villa Ludwigshöhe, Hambach Castle, and so on. Three minutes on foot to the historic wine village of Rhodt unter Rietburg. Excellent wines and cozy places to stop for food and drink. The price of €10 is more than justified for this wonderful place!
One star for the beautiful view. But: an enormous PRICE INCREASE of 150%!! In return, I could see a 0% improvement in services. An outrage. We will also avoid this place in the future and visit a winegrower again instead.
It used to be a great free place; then €4 with bins and a great view was absolutely fine. Increasing it to €10 within one year without the municipality providing any services at the site is outrageous. It harms not only campers but also the town. We enjoyed coming here for years, but there are significantly better places for this overpriced fee. We will not return—what a shame.
And the cars park for free right next to it. After visiting the town three times and eating there, we will no longer drive to Rhodt!!!
We often enjoyed staying at this place among the vineyards. But after this price increase from €4 to €10, we probably will not return either. We consider this price completely unjustified, since the place offers nothing apart from waste disposal. Elsewhere, for this price you also get water and waste services. What a shame.
I have just removed the place from my favorites. Last year I paid €4 there. That was perfectly fine, especially since you are constantly enveloped in spray when the vines are treated and it is noisy because of all the tractors. But now paying ten euros? No way, not for me. In summer it is also hot and has little shade.
We enjoyed coming here for several years. €4 per day was fine. Now suddenly €10! Without any improvement in quality! That is outrageous! Thanks for nothing to the municipality. Your innkeepers and winegrowers will thank you. Goodbye!
The place is very beautiful, but not worth the price. We will no longer come here with a motorhome. We would rather stay at a winegrower’s site.
I am grateful for every motorhome site in the Palatinate and am happy to pay something for it. Anyone who can afford a motorhome will not be hurt by €10. Despite the supposedly high price, four motorhomes are here on a Friday in mid-January. I am sure it will be full again in summer. The place has a good location and everything you need.
We enjoyed coming here and buying wine. That is probably over now! The site is not worth €10!
We have been coming regularly to Rhodt by motorhome for years. Certainly, one can say that anyone who drives a motorhome can afford the money for a parking site. But this price increase from €4 to €10 for the same “service” is, to put it politely, inappropriate. Fortunately, there are still other beautiful motorhome sites in the Palatinate.
What justification does the municipality have for increasing the price from €4 to €10? It remains a simple gravel lot with bins. It was surely originally intended to benefit the restaurants and winegrowers in the town. And then there is a payment app that is not used anywhere else (there are market leaders in apps too, dear municipal administration; perhaps ask around in Landau…). Very disappointing!
I can only agree with the previous speakers. €10 for no water or waste services whatsoever? Before the increase, people paid €4; I would have been happy with one or two euros more. But €10??? Then we simply will not go to Café Ludwig or the Fader wine shop in the future. This is just encouraging more people to park “wild.” Rhodt, you did that really well.
Outrageous!! A 150% price increase within one year. No services whatsoever.
We have been coming regularly to this site for 15 years. Costs of €0 to €4 per night were reasonable. Now suddenly €10 is excessive. No water or waste services or anything similar. Only bins and a box for empty bottles. The result was immediately apparent: normally packed at this time of year, there was only one motorhome. The municipality will notice!
Well located at the northern end of the town (about 10–15 spaces). At the southern end there is a larger site (25+). Both sites cost €10 per 24 hours; pay via the app, or someone comes to collect payment at 8–9 a.m. Simple site, not completely level, waste bins available, otherwise nothing.
Beautiful view of Villa Ludwigshöhe and the Rhine plain. The spaces are very sloped, hence one point deducted. Approaching from Edenkoben via the road to Villa Ludwigshöhe is strongly recommended! The access through Roth is very narrow and crowded with tourists.
Beautiful motorhome site in the middle of the vineyards. A short walk to the attractive town. The chairlift can also be reached on foot through the vineyards. €4 for 24 hours is a fair price.
Quiet motorhome site in the middle of the vineyards. €4/24 hours. No water or waste services. At weekends, it is best to approach via the road toward the chairlift.
Beautiful place for self-sufficient campers in the vineyards, within walking distance of the town.
Price now €4.00. Direct access through the town is partially closed on weekends (residents only). Smaller vehicles can also reach the destination via the side streets.
€5 for NOTHING. Passenger cars parked on the same gravel lot next door pay NOTHING!!!!!
