R. de São Francisco, 5300, Bragança
Been here?
This is a free motorhome area beneath Bragança Castle, with a 24h stay limit and free filling and waste-disposal services. It is a short walk from the castle and historic centre, with shade trees, views and a nearby park. There is no electricity, and many pitches are sloping. The service area is narrow for large vehicles, with high, sharp access kerbs.

Great site near the castle. Glad for the trees providing shade.
I spent a quiet night. The area is a short walk from the castle, is free, and has a 24-hour stay limit. There are recycling bins and a dumping area, which I did not test. Most pitches are sloping, but given the convenience and the fact that it is free, there is nothing to complain about.
The area is very good and very clean. Bragança Castle is right next to it and is well worth seeing; the military museum is displayed inside. We spent a very peaceful and comfortable night. There are facilities for emptying and filling water. The town center is about a 15–20 minute walk away. In the afternoons, staff check that you have not exceeded 24 hours and photograph the license plates.
Good area for emptying grey and black water, although the description does not mention it. Quiet and usually busy.
Area located below the castle, perfect for visiting the town and castle, which is well worth it. Approximately 50 spaces for motorhomes, fairly level. It is best to arrive early because it filled up even at this time of year.
Beautiful camper area close to the old town center. The facilities work well. Slightly sloping, but that is easy to solve. No electricity. It is quiet.
Large terraced area with numerous spaces, a five-minute walk from the citadel and historic center. All services are free, there are trees for shade, magnificent views, and a park beside it, ideal for walking dogs.
beautiful park up, unfortunately the drinking water taps are both broken, so unusable. the black water taps had no water. so be prepared to not have access to these.
Paved, illuminated, free area beside the castle. Uneven. The service area is dangerously narrow for large vehicles. Access curbs are high and sharp. Good views.
Positive: free overnight stay. Negative: uneven spaces, unpleasant smells, and above all several barking dogs throughout the entire night. No idea why this place is so popular; some campers even act aggressively to make sure they get a space.
Very practical. Clean. Free waste disposal. At the foot of the castle. The only drawback is the smell from the wastewater treatment plant, which drifts over, but it is manageable.
Super, excellent pitch with water and waste services, everything spacious. The castle and restaurants are easily reachable on foot. Tables and benches are available for breakfast.
Beautiful parking area close to the Castello!
We spent one night and it was quite good. It coincided with the medieval festivals and was fairly full, but we were able to park because there are so many spaces. Very beautiful walled city.
Free area with all filling and emptying services. Numerous spaces and very well located for visiting the walled area, as it is at the foot of the castle.
Perfect, ideal for visiting.
Superb site! Fortress just a few steps away. Services are fine.
Very quiet. All services available. We spent a very peaceful night at the beginning of March.
We stayed in mid Feb 25 and there was plenty of space. Very convenient for castle, old town and river/gorge walk. We would certainly return
The area was full this afternoon, and I did not want to damage the 7.2-metre Hymer with bikes at the back while attempting a difficult parallel-parking manoeuvre. Close to smelly toilets that are closed at night, and near the citadel; pleasant walks in the park and streets.
We spent a very quiet night with no noise. We saw the castle, which is very close, and visited Bragança, a beautiful city.
A really great parking area!!
Very well designed, but highly popular, so there are not many free spaces when you arrive in the afternoon. Some people park while leaving room for their table and chairs, thereby limiting the available spaces. Otherwise, perfect for visiting Bragança and sleeping.
Excellent area, with ample capacity and all services, right next to the castle and the Domus. The only problem is that the spaces are somewhat sloped, but wheel chocks solve it.
