Shaded parking, weekend noise

Felt safe here as lone female traveller. Busy car park next to family friendly park and lots of shade towards the back of the car park. Barriers that lifted automatically upon entry ( no ticket provided) but car reg needed to pay before exit. Really quiet at night time and slept well. Walkable to city centre. Recommend.

We were here on a Sunday. At first we were surprised that the barrier opened without us taking a ticket. Later it turned out that parking here is free on Sundays. Friday-to-Saturday night was extremely noisy: shouting and fights among drunk people, noisy trams, traffic, vehicle alarms—in short, after five weeks travelling through Italy and the Balkans, this was the worst parking area and especially the one where we felt least safe.✦Translating

We had a peaceful night. Reasonable price: €7 for 24 hours. Close to the city centre, with a bus to the citadel right next to the parking area (€1.50 per person), and right beside the Doubs for a walk. The riverside walk is very pleasant and beautiful. It is a little noisy at night because people park here to go out in the city, so there are sometimes late-night returns to the cars, but nothing too bothersome. Spacious parking area not far from the city centre, with a huge, beautiful park next to it. A lovely path runs along the Doubs, either into the city or in the other direction to the citadel. The system is currently being converted to number-plate recognition; it did not work for me, so I parked free for three days! It is also not clear at the machine how long the maximum parking duration is.✦Translating

Perfect for visiting, as the bus stop for the citadel is directly opposite and the centre is ten minutes away. Shaded and suitable for large motorhomes. The tourist office told us that because of the adjacent park, groups of young people sometimes gather there, but this varies. We went a little farther to Chaleze, to the small church car park.✦Translating
