Base Paul Riquet, 34250, Palavas-les-Flots
Been here?
Motorhome-only area with all services included: showers, hot water, dishwashing, utilities. €21/night, harbor-side location, 5 min from beach and city center. Excellent reception staff. Pitches offer varying shade; wind is constant. Main issue: adjacent busy highway to Montpellier causes significant road noise. Port odors possible in extreme heat. Bathrooms basic but maintained.

Excellent! Registration and payment at the entrance with courteous, fast staff. €21 per day including unlimited loading, unloading, fresh water, toilets, sinks, showers, dishwashing sinks with hot water. On the waterfront, near the village and beaches, and monitored. No mosquitoes. You cannot ask for anything better!
Overall everything is good: services, access, free showers, and so on. Now for the other issue: the location beside the expressway leading to Carnon and Montpellier. A real sound disaster, because the route along the fence is used for racing cars and motorcycles until late at night. I should say until dawn. Avoid it in summer.
We spent one night, everything was great, surrounded by little boats, near the beach, restaurants, ice-cream shops and a lively atmosphere. Ideal for several nights, with all services in very good condition. Excellent service!
Charming place, surrounded by little boats and with a beautiful sunset. Good value for money. Excellent service. Bathrooms old-fashioned but clean.
Some foreign children ride electric scooters around, brushing against the motorhomes and coming back whistling after midnight. Others play football until after 2 a.m. A woman with her three children was doing the dishes after 11:30 p.m., and she even washed her private parts in the dishwashing sink. Where is the caretaker?
We stayed one night, excellent for resting after a long journey and convenient to reach. Fair value for money. The downside was the dirty bathrooms, so we preferred to use our camper’s bathroom and shower.
On arrival at the parking area, check in at the very friendly reception. Well-equipped area with showers and sanitary facilities, emptying, filling and electrical hookups for €21 per night on a nice pitch. A little noisy, with harbor smells during the heatwave, but only a five-minute walk from the beach, shops and restaurants.
Absolutely spectacular, with large pitches. Although some are in the sun and not all have tree shade, there is always wind, and the evenings are wonderful! Splendid sunsets. The only bad luck: dogs are forbidden access along the entire coast. Truly shameful—there are huge, almost deserted beaches, but smoking and bringing dogs onto the sand are forbidden. Truly shameful.
We arrived around 6 p.m. The politeness and manners at reception, including toward guests who do not speak French, are certainly something that can be learned in a training course. I strongly recommend it. When showering, note that the cubicle needs clothes hooks and a trap should be installed in the drain.
Beautiful, well-maintained parking area near the marina and 700 m from the town center and sea. Good welcome at reception. All services are included, as are showers until 11 p.m. We will return.
For the price, we expected something else! Small, disorderly pitches. Very old and dirty toilets and showers.
Unfortunately only for registered motorhomes! Since our Sprinter is registered as a truck rather than a motorhome, we were denied access “for safety reasons” because our onboard equipment would not have undergone a safety inspection without re-registration. Thanks anyway for the friendly tips about alternative campsites.
We are here today with the motorhome for one night. Great place, nicely located by the harbor. As often described, the sanitary facilities are very outdated. The price is perfectly reasonable, considering electricity is included. The site is lit, making it feel safe. We would come again.
Warning: if you follow the Park4Night coordinates, you arrive in a housing development. According to Maps, enter 43.530926 and 3.923910, or N 43°31'51.3 and E 003°55'26.0.
Wonderful welcome at the harbor office, free choice of pitch, excellent facilities at an exceptional price, much cheaper than all the campsites I have stayed at. I highly recommend it to as many motorhome travelers as possible!
We stayed for one night and paid €21 with a dog and electricity. We could choose our pitch freely, and even though we arrived at 6:30 p.m., several were still available, including directly by the water. The sanitary facilities are a little outdated but absolutely acceptable for the price! The staff were very friendly and helpful! We will definitely come again!
Area right in the harbor. Large, with plenty of space and all services. The center is about 1 km away. Very beautiful and quiet at this time of year.
Large, spacious paved area. Clean, with perfectly maintained showers and toilets. Ideal location for visiting the harbor.
Beautiful place with all services, toilets and showers, close to the town and hiking trails.
Very nice place, gladly again. Very nice staff.
It is indeed a rather large parking area, but if you manage to get a place near the harbor, it is quite quiet. The center and harbor are quickly reachable on foot, and a cycle path starts at the entrance to the area. Quite a lot of turnover this season, but also many people because the weather is beautiful!
At first we were concerned about the road next to it, but it did not bother us. We had a lovely spot by the boat harbor. The only thing was that the showers could have been a little warmer.
The site is great for visiting the town and, if you are lucky, standing by the water. There are even three service points, and you can stay until 4 p.m. However, even these days, with strong wind and 14°C, it was already quite full. There is also a lot of turnover.
Simple pitch, sufficient space, and conveniently close to the center. Nice reception staff. The sanitary facilities urgently need painting and renovation, but they are genuinely clean. Showers work great, and the washroom and toilets, with toilet paper, are well heated. Unfortunately, cleaning is only done at noon; mornings would also be convenient.
Location: well situated, close to shops, cafés, restaurants, snack bars and the town center. 850 m from the fine sandy beach. Long promenade along the seafront. No Wi-Fi today. Arrived at 11:30 a.m., departed the next day before 4 p.m.—one night.
Nice, quiet, flat, paved pitch, perhaps a little hot in midsummer. Electricity, emptying and filling were perfect. Clean shower and toilet. Ten minutes on foot to the harbor and center. Fixed price €21.
Beautiful pitch on a hard surface. The sanitary facilities leave something to be desired. For one or two days, this pitch is okay.
Almost nothing to complain about. Only the sanitary facilities are showing their age. Also, the shower water was cold during our stay. The site costs €21 per night, after all.
Well-designed and practical area for parking a motorhome. The sanitary facilities do indeed need a facelift, but remain very clean and functional. Payment is €21 per 24-hour period, from 4 p.m. to 4 p.m., including unlimited access to water, emptying and electricity. Late arrival is possible thanks to the night watchman; pay at reception the next day.
Very well-located area, with a great view over the Lèze and the boats. At this time of year, we had our choice of pitches. Clean sanitary facilities, toilet paper and soap. Beautiful walks along the quays.
Nice place and good pitch. On March 1 it was not as busy as in the photo. Definitely recommendable. A visit to the town is worthwhile, as is a trip to Montpellier.
Open on February 26. Friendly welcome. Relatively large pitch. €21 package including electricity, water, emptying and sanitary facilities. Just a stone’s throw from the town center.
Clean area, well located for sightseeing, with a great setting by the marina on one side and, on the other—the small downside—a somewhat noisy road.
We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and were refused on the grounds that we were neither a motorhome nor a van that had already been converted. Yet we are completely self-sufficient, with three children. Disappointed.
Busy even in February. Pleasant welcome, unlike LGM where nothing works!
Nice location, a pity about the very outdated sanitary facilities.
The location is perfect. They are building a new reception, but should definitely invest in the service building instead. The women’s toilet doors were so swollen that they were 20 cm short of being able to close. The ceiling above the showers is covered in black spots. I could not find any working Wi-Fi. The woman at reception needs a proper course in how to treat paying guests. She lowers the rating by two stars.
Large pitches, quiet because of the occupants but noisy because of the road. €21 including shower, toilet, electricity, water and emptying, so fair. No shade in summer.
Excessive price, especially since we have a trailer and were asked to pay for two pitches, even though it is February and there are plenty of spaces. Outright theft!
But it is open! And still just as pleasant after 20 years of coming here! If only there were areas like this in every town!
