Church parking, heavy truck noise

This is now an overnight parking area. The toilets are specifically marked for motorhomes. Unfortunately, heavy trucks travel on the directly adjacent road practically all night, making it very noisy! We will not use this place for overnight stays again.

There is confusion between the parking area behind the church and the one in front of it. This is the parking area in front of the church. I spent one night here on February 26. In my opinion, overnight stays are not prohibited. Pissos is a pleasant small town with quite a few shops, including two bakeries. The people are also very friendly, and two walking routes are possible. The only negative is that quite a few trucks pass through.

There are now no-parking signs in the area behind the church. In front of the church, near the toilets, parking is not prohibited.

We were very surprised on arrival to see these signs prohibiting the parking of vehicles over 2 meters high. I did not find these signs in the highway code, so they are not legally valid. Before a court, the municipality would be ordered to remove them. Have you asked the shopkeepers what they think?

Very quiet and good for staying overnight. It also has the particular advantage of being close to the motorway.

Nice little village. Excellent restaurant, the Pillos bar. Small parking area in front of the church, apparently tolerated. No services. Behind the church, overnight parking is now prohibited; some residents do not appreciate our presence.

Great for a stop with all amenities. Quality bakery and butcher with excellent products. It is perfect for a picnic stop. And the church was open—unbelievable.

Many thanks to the municipality of Pissos in the Landes for the welcome: a post office, a quality butcher directly opposite the pharmacy, and the Le Fournil bakery with excellent bread made from organic flours such as Khorasan, just after the Carrefour supermarket. There is even a petrol station toward Mont-de-Marsan.
