440 Barrage, 7742, Pecq
Been here?
A lit parking area beside the lock, by the river, with views of the water and surrounding area, suitable for campers up to 7m. It is usually peaceful at night, with boats, fishermen, cyclists and joggers during the day, though young people may make noise at weekends. A bakery is about 1.4 km away and can be reached in 3 minutes.

We spent several nights here, but sometimes young people come at weekends and make noise.
Parking allowed next to the lock. The place is interesting; a bar has been set up in the former building of a sewage treatment plant, whose basin was later converted into a swimming pool in the 1940s. Enjoy watching the barges pass through. Fishermen and joggers, then a quiet night.
This is the second time we have slept in this car park beside the Scheldt. There are a few fishermen, cyclists and joggers, but the night is very quiet. The car park is lit at night and a bar is open until the end of September a few dozen metres away. Still just as enjoyable to watch the barges go by.
Great place, especially now with the artwork. Too bad I can't upload a photo.
Access forbidden to vehicles.
Quiet place at the Spiere lock. Occasionally a car, cyclist or walker passes by. Because the waterways in La Louvière and somewhere in Kortrijk are obstructed, many ships have to take a detour via the Scheldt. As a result, the lock is busy from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. This does not disturb you at all, but it is worth spending some time watching how it works. We stayed here for two nights.
Peaceful place, lulled by the sound of the water. Parking lit at night.
Quiet place where we spent the night. Watching the boats and walking along the canal were pleasant. No services.
Parked at the foot of a lock, we had an excellent night. Very quiet place, with only a few bicycles passing by. Free, quiet, clean—great place. Don't forget to watch how the lock works when a boat passes; it is still impressive.
