299 Route du Lion, 1410, Waterloo
Been here?
A free overnight parking area beside the Waterloo Lion’s Hill, convenient for visiting the monument and museum. There are no facilities, although museum toilets are available when it opens at 9.30. Large vehicles and nearby traffic can make the night noisy, though some stays are quiet. Safety concerns have also been reported, including threats against motorhomes and heavy drug trafficking in the parking lots.

Large parking area at the entrance. No facilities, but there is a toilet in the museum, which opens at 9:30.
Good for visiting the museum! The memorial staff allowed us to park below and spend the night there, which we did not do after seeing the reviews, hearing tyres squealing, and noting the proximity of the motorway. Indeed, we would not have felt safe. A shame.
We spent one night there. It was impossible to sleep before 1 a.m.; cars passed and people talked without any consideration. Probably some kind of traffic. We did not feel safe at all. Don't go there :(
Ideal for visiting the historic site. There was space and the Memorial was just a few steps away. We did not sleep here. I recommend it as a stopover car park.
Suitable for visiting the Lion's Mound.

Traffic along the ring road day and night. Sloping everywhere. Good for one night.

We were looking for a place to sleep and arrived at this car park at 7 p.m., which was almost empty. Another motorhome joined us. There was almost constant traffic of cars coming and going without any apparent purpose. Until 1 a.m. we were bothered by some youths hanging around, but afterwards the night was very quiet and we were able to visit the monument.
We arrived at the car park before 5 p.m. From 5 p.m., a museum ticket costs €10 and the Panorama costs €9. You can visit everything until 6:30 p.m. The night was peaceful, although someone kept arriving by car and leaving shortly afterwards until 1 a.m.
Overnight stays are permitted only with the museum's approval. The second car park is completely prohibited for motorhomes. However, when asked, it was no problem to spend the night in the bus parking area. You should like road noise, though. The museum shop, including the toilet, can be accessed without a ticket.
Spacious places, with a slight slope. Quiet at night.
In itself, a nice place with clean sanitary facilities and a washing machine. Payment is possible only via Swish or, if someone is present, in cash at the shop on the main road. But beware: from the beginning of October, the service building is closed, and overnight stays are then not allowed, for whatever reason. So it is not an all-year site!
