Camping la Sauge

We chose this campsite because the others were full. You get what you pay for: run-down and close to a road, but it works for a few nights and is within cycling distance of the harbor, beach, and train station for visiting Marseille or the Calanques.

Well-located, shaded, quiet despite being close to the road, with no noise at all. Very friendly staff, but indeed it is not possible to use the old, dirty, almost abandoned sanitary facilities. A shame.

Pleasant campsite with a laid-back atmosphere. A little maintenance would not be out of place, but the manager is welcoming and nice. Fair price in June. The town center is a 10-minute walk away.

Cozy campsite close to the center. Parc de Mugel is a 45-minute walk away. The sanitary facilities are indeed old, but clean. You can hear the busy road until late in the evening and again early in the morning.

The welcome was friendly and the location is perfect for exploring the city. A supermarket is within walking distance. However, the sanitary facilities are old and have an unpleasant smell. To avoid the street noise, it is advisable to stand as far from the road as possible.

Aging but clean campsite. The pitches are very large. The road is not too noisy at night on weekdays outside the season. We stayed three nights and the difference is noticeable. The main advantage is its location, allowing you to do everything on foot, and the staff are very welcoming.

Simple, family-friendly campsite. The shower temperature seemed perfect, and the welcome was excellent. We arrived during the week and chose a good pitch away from the road. A little expensive compared with the national offering, but inexpensive compared with campsites in the south. I recommend it.

Very neglected site. The sanitary facilities are very old, some are closed off and run-down. Some toilets were still squat toilets. There were fewer hot-water showers available. There was no Wi-Fi at all.

We were welcomed today already, April 15, even though the campsite normally does not open until May 7. It is a 15–20-minute walk along the main road to the dog beach. The dog beach is very small but well separated and easily accessible. We would be happy to return.

Far too few toilets—two for more than 100 people, so there was a queue, how lovely. Showers without lighting. Payment was cash only and without a receipt, so black money for them. One overnight stay to visit La Ciotat is enough. No evening lighting and very expensive for little service, even though it was outside the season in September. 6-amp electricity and a 50-meter cable required.

Beautiful town and waters. The campsite is very old but very well located and has lots of shade. Cards are not accepted. Closed from noon to 3 p.m. €28 per day and €5 for electricity.

We were welcomed very warmly and given a map of the town with all the information. The sanitary facilities could use a good refresh. As for the road noise, that is part of being in the town center. If you want peace and quiet, simply stay farther out. Everything can be done on foot within a 2–3 km radius. Great for a motorhome. Perfect for staying a few days in La Ciotat.

Very run-down camping area. We did not use the sanitary facilities because they were so old. The welcome was nevertheless friendly. The road right next to the campsite is very busy and noisy. We did not sleep a wink. Sorry for this negative review, but I prefer to warn future campers.

We are satisfied with the proximity to the beach and the price is reasonable: 40 euros per night for a motorhome, two adults, two children, and two dogs. Calling it a campsite is a stretch; I would call it a parking area with very outdated and somewhat dirty sanitary facilities. Very noisy road at night. It works for one or two nights.

Excellent welcome, large pitches, perfect pool. We recommend this stopover.

A bit expensive but we had electricity, water refill and emptying of gray water and wc cassette. Very popular among the locals. Downside is that it is right next to a street with traffic every night. We stayed for 5 days during august and we didn't have one quiet night.

The facilities are somewhat neglected, but they saved our night: at 8 p.m. all the campsites close reception and nobody answered. We went over and found a very nice man who let us in. A van with two people cost us €28.

Conveniently close to the beach and center, but the campsite is dirty; there is rubbish such as glass and pieces of waste on the pitches. Fine for one or two nights to visit the town, but that is all. €70 for two nights for two adults, a dog, and electricity.

Small urban campsite close to amenities and beaches, with rustic sanitary facilities that nevertheless do the job very well.

A very simple but clean site with very friendly staff. The harbor and old town are not far away. By bicycle it is only five minutes.
