La Bouillouse, 66210, Les Angles
Been here?
A daytime parking area and starting point for the ascent to Carlit or tours around the lakes. Motorhome parking is prohibited from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.; in season, a shuttle is required and costs 6€ per person. Dogs need a 4€ muzzle to use the bus, otherwise they are prohibited. The trails are rocky, and the altitude is noticeable; outside the season, there are several levels, space, and a barbecue.

You have to park and continue the journey by shuttle bus, costing €6 per person. You can spend the day at the lakes; there are different routes, but I recommend being somewhat prepared, as the paths have many stones and the increase in altitude is noticeable.
Out of season, you can drive to the parking area at the base of the dam. Quite a few spaces spread over different levels. There is room and a barbecue area for cooking. Overnight stays in motorhomes are not allowed.
We went to this parking area yesterday. Indeed, there is a shuttle to access the lake costing €6 per person in high season, plus €4 to buy a muzzle, otherwise dogs are not allowed on the bus. However, the lake is magnificent; we will return in low season. Safe travels.
Ideal parking outside the season for hiking or trail running. In season it is not possible, as there is a shuttle service to go up. The site is protected, however. Spending the night there is strictly forbidden. We therefore went down to Mont-Louis and came back up the next morning.
Great, a little busy but nice. Magnificent hikes to do!!!
